This thread is for anyone who needs to get something off their chest. This is NOT the place to talk about problems with the web site or another WAB member. This IS the place to talk about whatever life has just thrown at you.
A problem shared is a problem halved and all that. | All everyone answering this thread has done is moan, I thought the purpose of the thread was to stop the moaning. Oh well if you can't beat them........... The weather up here for the past month has been atrocious, rain, rain and more rain and yet you lot down south complain if you get a day of it. No wonder a Scot invented the MacIntosh raincoat. That's better

So, moan to your heart's content. |

| | | Re: Why are you grumpy today? I have yet again been woken up by the sound of people doing noisy construction work! For a long, long time now I've had builders in my street during weekdays, making all sorts of racket, and it's a bit tough when the weekends go the same way due to neighbours doing DIY! And I know that the builders will be back in the morning. So, that's the whole week ruined, no day off at all, not even on a sunday. Anyone else affected by this? |

Why are we grumpy? .... we live in country with some wonderful wildlife.
Lets chill out, have a beer and as the song goes "always look on the bright side of life".
Mind you, the weather has been oeoeoeoe, fuel and energy costs are soaring, the neighbour's dog will just not stop barking, it took 2 hours to do a 9 mile journey to work last week, hay fever is a pain in the a*** (well, an itch in the eyes and nose), there is no football .... and the fridge has run out of beer!

But you know what, I may get upset sometimes but I am not grumpy cos we are making the most of every minute we can. I am grateful for all the precious things I have. Life is too short.

My Dad died of cancer in December 2005 and was very ill for some time before we lost him.
You are right .... being in that kind of situation really does or should put "grumpy" in to perspective.
I hope you and your Mum enjoy what time together that you have left. It sounds like you are both very strong given the circumstances.
Thinking of you.

My mum has been in ill health for more years than I can remember but at least that has given us the opportunity to say all the important things to each other. In a way we are lucky, so many people have their loved ones snatched away from them without a moment's notice.

That's so true Susie, my father died suddenly 16 years ago when he was on holiday to Malta with my mother. There are so many things I wish I had spoken to him about, and many regrets for things said and done.

| | | Re: Why are you grumpy today? I am one of those either annoying or lucky ( I say lucky) who doesn't get grumpy. It can often drive others mad. I am just happy to be surrounded by good friends, family, scenery, wildlife. I do not go hungry, or thirsty, I live in a house with hot and cold running water, have a car, can walk, skip, run and jump, see, hear smell, taste, talk, read, write and appreciate everything in my life.
Yes silly things annoy me, but they don't make me grumpy, I rant about issues which touch me and try and be supportive to causes in which I believe.
After all we are only here for a short time so best for that time to be happy.
As the words 'What a Wonderful World" say so well.
