| | | Allotment Slaughter This is just sickening, what goes through these kids heads? What sort of parents do they have to end up behaving like this? I'll be the first to admit I was never whiter than white but I never went around slaughtering innocent animals with claw hammers and crowbars!! Throw the book at them I say although they will probably be sent on a fortnights holiday! Four children quizzed after more than 100 animals are slaughtered - Gazette Live |

| | | Re: Allotment Slaughter Words cannot express how I am feeling after reading that!! How anyone could slaughter defenceless animals like that, well they are evil! To find out it was done by 12 and 13 year olds-what the hell is the matter with them? Obviously they have never been taught how to respect any living thing and must have got a sick enjoyment out of doing it!
There cannot be any excuse for them, but of course someone will back the "dears",deprived childhood etc.
Feel desperately sorry for those that knew and cared for those poor animals,I wouldnt like to say what I would be like if I was in their shoes!

If my children had done something like this, they would have been shown the meaning of 'pain and suffering' in no uncertain terms and to hell with the 'do gooders'.

| | | Re: Allotment Slaughter That was very upsetting to read . My child is 12 and she would never do a thing like that because we have brought her up to respect all life and to behave properly. It's not that hard to raise a decent child, but I can tell, judging by some of the parents I've met, how they can get ignored and left to it. Lazy parents just let them go and do what they like because they can't be bothered or they have there new boyfriend over. I could blame the age of some of the parents these days, only children themselves, but that would put me in the same bracket. It seems that nothing is as it used to be and that is not a good thing.

| | | Re: Allotment Slaughter Unless children are punished for their actions behaviour like this will continue.
Parents should be held entirely responsible for their children's actions until they are 18 years old.
I would impose fines on these parents or community service if they can not pay.
I would implement this across the board for knife crime, vandalism, unsocial behaviour, truancy, theft, and the above hideous crime.
Maybe then parents would take some interest in what their so called wanted children are up to.

| | | Re: Allotment Slaughter This is a truly barbaric act of wanten Vandelism and and downright animal cruelty the parents should be held to account for the actions of their ofspring if you can call the children that more like spores of the devil.
If a human had carried this out on another there would be an outcry but no doubt they will go up in front of the Judicary and and get a slap on the wrist and told not to do it again .
All those do gooders who campaigned for an end to corpral punishment in schools and parents not being allowed to chastise their kids are satisfied,if I had did this when young I would have got it from my Mother first then again from my dad when he came in from work.
It makes you so angry if my kids had dfid something like this they would`nt have known what day it was

Did we have the same dad.
I remember getting caught nicking strawberries from a neighbours, got my a*** walloped and sent to apologise. The sore backside was bad enough but ringing the neighbours doorbell was worse and embarrassing. I never did it again
Kids nowadays don't care about anything and there is no deterrent and they know that the police cannot do much and the courts are a joke.
The neds up here nailed a cat to a church door, the culprit was eventually found out and he fled the village because there were a few irate villagers out for blood.

| | | Re: Allotment Slaughter When I was a kid there was a petting zoo we used to call the "bunny park" and something similar happened there, with many of the guineapigs, Rabbits, geese, etc being killed. It broke my heart at the time. That must have been 30 years ago and it is awful to think this sort of thing still goes on.
On a brighter note for the next generation my eldest daughter (also aged 12) has just won a place out of her whole school (1,400 pupils) to spend a day working with a vet. It has been her wish since she was tiny to become a vet and help animals when she grows up and it looks like she is on her way.

Still time for a quick murder or two yet?
Would that be your fault?
The point I make is that sometimes kids (of all ages) do some incredibly evil things that cannot be blamed on their parents.
Some of the previous posts have blamed the parents of these kids, and these "judges" know nothing about the circumstances, the families or anything, but they are the experts and they are absolutely right in dealing out their terms of justice.
Rant over Where's me black cap?

| | | Re: Allotment Slaughter Lucky indeed, but she also worked really hard on her application form and gave it lots of thought. She has been desparately waiting for her 13th birthday next week so she can volunteer at our local RSPCA as she is so keen to help. I am really proud of her (although I would be proud of her anyway, I'm her mum. lol).
Not all of today's kids are bad.
I would throw the book at those kids who did that terrible thing too, but I can't help but think what awful stuff they must have been through to want to do something like that for fun.
