Thoughts on Unidentified Images

Hi All,
Looking at some of the unidentified images it struck me that when taking shots of things you cannot identify it would be helpful to show as much detail as possible. Certainly with plants (wildflowers & trees) it would help if leaves were either included in the shot or a separate pic. taken of the leaves etc and also a note given of the habitat where found.
I know that I am as much to fault about this But, if we all try to make the effort to make it easier for others to ID our unknowns then hopefully we can learn something from each other Even with other things like insects it may well be useful to have whatever information that can be given i.e. on what plant etc. found.
Trust you will still keep the images coming as even if they are unknown many are beautiful in their own right.

I've been doing exactly the same Wildone. I've taken hundreds of photos of flowers etc that, once displayed on my PC, simply don't show enough detail to make a positive ID.

I guess we may even have to put together a quick photo guide of details that need to be included in pictures to make it possible to ID them.

However, like you say, even without the full ID, many of the pictures in the gallery still look superb even without a name attached.
