| | | Anyone got a cure for toothache! I'm sitting here typing with one hand, holding my face with the other, dribbling and in unbelievable pain despite paracetamol and ibuprofen
Has anyone got any quick cures (that don't involve alcohol, I don't think my boss would be too pleased unfortunately )

I don't think anyone has a cure for toothache, they'd make a fortune if they did, alchohol works for a short time, then you feel worse, can't your Doctor prescribe some knockout painkillers.
When I had bad head pain, not headache as such, I found two ibuprofen and one co-codamol, [the soluble type, more expensive, but acts quicker] taken four times a day,[ over the legal limit] but helped a lot lot.
Two weeks seems a long time to leave you in pain.
Wish you well.
Max.

| | | Re: Anyone got a cure for toothache! There used to be a locally applied "anesthetic" in a small aerosol (no name sorry) but from the chemist. Oil of cloves on a cotton wool pad gripped in the effected area used to give some relief
I do sympathise the lioness had the same problem,I took her along to the
Dental Hospital she was seen within the hour
Tramadol was prescribed for a neighbour

Did you know that tooth problems caused major fatalities in out ancestors ! and is a very painful way to go.
Anyone who has teeth would find it a benefit to take out health insurance membership, its like a savings bank.
Teeth are a problem when coming when here and when going.
I had a genetic problem with tooth enamel it kept going soft, and it was a blessing in disguise when my dentist removed them all. It's saved me a fortune and its a pleasure to be able to eat foodstuffs without pain.
False teeth may be the butt of a lot of jokes, but I at least am very thankful.
I think it was Franklin Roosevelt who had a set made out of wood !

I think it is an urban myth that they were made out of wood, but
in fact wre at various times made from African Ivory, human teeth
and cows teeth. |

I'll pop out later and get some oil of cloves. I'd try almost anything as it's been on and off for a few weeks now (except the ladybird, thanks Roger but I think I'll pass on that one!)

As if having a baby wasn't painful enough!! I remember walking into my Dentist looking like a tribeswoman from one of those that stick huge plates into their lip, it was so large I could have eaten my dinner off it!! Anbesol works VERY well so do try it. Also codiene is powerful for pain, take 2, they send me to sleep!

You have my sympathies. | George Washington certainly had. Imagine if they caught fire!
After the Battle of Waterloo, many of the dead had their teeth removed to be used in sets of false teeth. As old fashions are coming back, don't go to sleep in the park.
