| | | Staunton Country Park We went to Staunton Country Park yesterday. They have an ornamental farm there. I thought you might like to see some of my photographs of the residents!
Granted, the first is a little blurred, but I was in the process of running away! What a mean looking llama! They have such an aloof attitude and I was only walking past!
Alpaca. This is mum Roma and her one month old baby. Baby alpacas and llamas are called cria. I don't think the little one has been named yet.
A rather sweet Shetland pony whose name was either Yarrow or Pepsi.
A most impressive Shire horse named Jess. This photo gives no indication of the sheer size!
Another alpaca.
A pygmy goat .. I want one so badly but I'm not allowed as it isn't practical
A bagot goat. He was gorgeous! I love goats eyes.

| | | Re: Staunton Country Park Hello May, those Alpaca's are lovely. We regually visit a Lama park but it's so hard to get a decent shot as they fold back their ears as soon as you get close and the ones in the field show you there backsides.

Ooh, what's the llama place called? Is it Ashdown or Ashford or something like that? I can't recall, but they do llama walking for a fee
I know what you mean about them being hard to get pictures of .. it was pretty hot yesterday so a lot of the animals were conked out under trees. I got his one which wasn't being all aloof and trying to get passers by involved in a llama versus human fight!
