| | | County recorders What sort of qualification is needed to be a county recorder?
I realise an extensive knowledge and a huge amount of dedication of your field but is there a particular course/ exam/ certificate/ degree required?

| | | Re: County recorders The county recorders I am familiar with, just seem to 'fall' into the role because of their vast knowledge and the fact they apply time and dedication to it all.

I expect most counties would snap you up if you offered to be county recorder for Tardigrades, but you might face competition if you wanted to be recorder for Flowering Plants!!

henrya | No,not plants-definitely insects though. WHEN I retire......which is light-years away...ha ha...and I've had donkeys years of knowledge rammed in my noddle (all from WAB of course ), then I may be interested.
Might do some sort of qualification between now and then, in the meantime.
I might become the county recorder for Golden Eagles in Kent. Do you think I'd get many records?!!!
