I think I'm remembering correctly but Upton Fen in Norfok (I shall check with his nibs but I'm almost sure its Upton Fen) had a dozen or more out sunbathing (between thunderstorms!) in July 07 - I just kept seeing them too late - off they went slithering off the path and back into the long stuff - so I never got a pic - but we counted at least 12 or 13 in one visit and the little circular walk is short and easy at the begining and thats where they were. The weather was vile - half the country was flooded and in dire straights and a longish walk we took there - ended in such a fiercesome downpour, thunder and lightening and I still had my brolly up protecting my camera pack.........
