Thank you all very much for your kind and encouraging comments which came as a bit of a surprise. Will certainly keep the wildlife photos coming, just got to track down some suitable subject matter.
Glad you liked the Heron picture, this was taken at a Kite feeding station not too far from us. Late afternoon food is put out for the Kites and the Kestrels and Herons take full advantage of this. With regard to what is in its beak, as far as I can tell it is a dead chick.
