| | | names you call your pets I wondered if any one else chooses a name for their pet and over time call them something similar to the original. For example, My cat is called Jessie and she can be called Jessie-Jones, Jingle-bells, stinky smells, nasty big bad fat cat.(It' ok we do love her) Jang, janger, jing-jang, spanger, spinger-spanger, and so on.
Or am I mad? |

I think he thinks his name is 'No-Max!' as that is how he is usually referred to!
My sister also has a cat called Alfie but he tends to go by the name of Alfie-walfie-marmalade! Don't ask

| | | Re: names you call your pets I've laughed and laughed at this thread - I hadn't realised that so many of us bend our pets names into 'pet names'
Our Bob the collie was 'Bob-dog': one of the cats got named Chi-Chi which was a corruption of the checheche noise you make when calling a cat but she ended up being called Cheech-i-puss or just plain Cheech and she answered to it!
The other cat was grey and white and had hazel eyes when he was little - so he got christened Jim-Jim after Nicholas Ball who played a private eye (?called Hazel?) and his nerdy brummie cousin called him Jim-Jim - way back in the '80's I seem to remember vaguely?!
Our last (and best cat) was chistened 'Sutty' another play on words as he was always (in Wigan twang) 'sut abhat doin' naht' and he was mostly black so the play was on the word 'Sooty' which is what posh folk thought we were shouting when we were calling him in for his food............
Pauline
PS And as an offside remark - my mam and dad called each other 'Nick' as an affectionate term - apparently to do with the song 'Oh no Nicholas, don't be ridiculous ........... ' |

| | | Re: names you call your pets My old cat was called Pappi - short for Papillion. He did look like a butterfly when he was a kitten but grew into his enormous paws He was always called Fat Cat when written and Nuff Puss when called ...unless he was hiding in which case Pappi...or if he was in trouble - then Papillion. Having said that i was only ever called naomi at home when i'd oversteped the mark!!

It gets called all sorts. Obs, obi-dobs, catkins, kitty-cat, puss-cat.... it must have quite a complex by now! |

My cats: Blue : now commonly known as Laddy Blish-dish. Merlin : Dishy-miller. Tom: Tajaja. Willow: The sock (at Egg.com).
I will not even attempt to explain how these things have happened, as I fear the men in white coats .... do you hear manic laughter???!!!
