| | | Re: names you call your pets My gorgeous half persian kitten was called Paisley...for about a week until she got the trots...she then became Poo Cat ( even at the vets ha ha) which became Poo...then Pook and somehow finally Pique? (peeeeek) or a choice of any of those.
I know its not a name change of the original but my friends cat when we were teens was called "Trumpet the Wonder Cat"...still makes me smile.

My cats Rufus and Tabbatha are known as Rufus Doofas, Malk and Tabby Wabby. My cat Rufus thinks he is called Malk because he responds to me (meaowing his head off) when I call my partner. Just discovered this recently, very funny. |

We previously had a cat called Twinkle (don't ask - it was the name she came with when we rescued her !) - I used to make OH go out and call her in at night .
Must be why he calls our cat 'alright Cat?'...

| | | Re: names you call your pets My dear departed border collie's real name was Kell, but my main nickname for him was Mr Plotty. I have absolutely no idea why, perhaps he just looked like a Mr Plotty. His other nickname was 'Hexagon nosey-man' (if you look closely at a dog's nose, it is covered in tiny hexagons - I find this quite an endearing feature of man's best friend).
The wife's late cat had the real name of Pepsi, however, soon after I met Pepsi, she became Pepsoid and Pepsicle (depending on what mood I was in).

We have a Bull Terrier/ Jack Russell cross called Doc (short for Doc Marten) who gets called by various members of the family Doc Doc, Doccy Doc, Doccy Dye Doos, Psycho, Fatty and Podge.
Doesn't respond to any of them. |

| | | Re: names you call your pets My old Rabbit uesd to be called Pepsi, but we called him Peppers sometimes. It's funny how we can't be bothered to call them by their original names, often comming up with somethig more complicated. I wonder how confused they get and what name they use when they introduce themselves to other animal friends |

my OH's family can never have 1 name for their animals. their 2 black labs (Poppy and Bella)get called anything eg poo and boo or poppy poo pants and bella boo.
catching as the pug i work with is now affectionatly refered to as barrel dog (due to its shape) or Mill bot.
working in a boarding cattery i hear all sorts of animal names. i fel sorry for the one whose real name is fursack. i wonder what else it gets called? |

Anyway...im slightly gutted as i was planning on swapping my field poppy to a Wildcat today seeing as i have become self obsessed with Felis silvestris silvestris...or grampia (just finished a 3500 word powerpoint presentation on them!).
I may still do it but choose a different pic of course?...although my bright red poppy makes it easy to whizz down threads and spot my own posts ( see? there was a method in my madness)...havent noticed any bright red Wildcat pics lately. =(

| | | Re: names you call your pets Now I've come to think about it, there have been many more variations to my pets names. With Snoopy, my bunny, he gets called Snuppers, Snupps and Snuppy all with the U being pronounced like in up. And Tabbatha, my cat, is Shabby or Shabbyfur. | | | | |
