| | Favourite Comedy and/or Sketch Been watching tons of Monty Python recently and just wondered what your favourite comedies, sketches or comedians are?
Mine changes quite a bit but i do love Monty Python - especially the Holy Grail and Ministry for Silly Walks. I also like Reeves and Mortimer and some of the Two Ronnies

| | | Re: Favourite Comedy and/or Sketch No contest, Fawlty Towers, with 'The Psychiatrist' one the funniest half hour of comedy ever.
Other greats include The Office, Steptoe and Son and perhaps Yes Minister/Prime Minister.
Regards, Chris

Ah, seet nostalgia, I remember when it used to be really good. |

Did you get to watch them much or wouldn't they let you?

| | | Re: Favourite Comedy and/or Sketch I enjoyed Monty Python greatly when they were first broadcast, but watching them now, they don't have the same appeal, the same with the Goodies.
Comedy that has stood the test of time is of course Morcambe and Wise, I never get tired of them. Open all Hours too is great. The Two Ronnies as well. |

Think 'Saxondale' is brilliant and anything with Frank Skinner. |

I especially liked the episode where they went on a caravan holiday, it's one of the episodes where Graham Norton pops up as a manic priest! Classic!
Also a fan of Ronnie Barker in Porridge, the man's a genius

Parents didn't like us watching That Kind Of Thing either. |

| | | Re: Favourite Comedy and/or Sketch I grew up in a street very near Ealing Studios, and saw some of the early Carry On films being made, as well as Tony Hancock, Arthur Haynes and the Goodies. We were told not to interfere or get in the way, so I missed lots of autograph opportunities.
I watched from my bedroom window the Goodies filming a sketch where a giant kitten attacked London, and one of them got crushed by a giant paw, which was actually a huge chunk of some light material hung from a crane. (Not really a giant kitten! )
These days, I love 'Two pints of lager and a packet of crisps', Catherine Tate, QI and Frasier.

| | | Re: Favourite Comedy and/or Sketch Fawlty towers, the best. Joanna Lumley in Abs Fab. Some of Little Britain, sometimes Russell Brand is amusing. Life of Brian. Dad's Army has been on recently, they are suprisingly good. And in Wales a few years ago there was a daft comedy show, about coracles and the mayor of Fishguard, and the animal rescue with the tapeworm? Can't remember what it was called. |

The scene in the bar, Peckham Springs and the one where they win millions at the auction. Very closely followed by Black Adder. |

We used to stay up late to watch the next episode, although it got a little *too* silly (yes, it did) when Burt (?) was kidnapped by aliens or something...
NB.. For those not in-the-know; "Soap" was a parody of daytime soap operas presented in a primetime sitcom, according to Wiki-wassit.
More recently, but in the same American humor mold (sic), has been "Third Rock From The Sun". Now that is brilliant!
