You need to press Ctrl + R. This will force the page to refresh and your post should then show correctly. |

If I then decide to view the gallery it shows me as not logged on until I use the refresh method as described by Graham then all is ok.
Very seldom any posts I make actually show until I refresh the page

Roger | I get exactly the same - I find I have to refresh the gallery all the time just to get the view updated. I haven't noticed it so much with the forums tho (unless I hit the refresh button just out of habit!). I've cleared out my caches and history etc. but it still happens. It's a pain doing it twice every time, but you get used to it in the end .

I think I'll notify Stu of this thread.

Your post is there, there's been comments on it. It's purely your computer isn't showing the latest updates automatically. By Pressing Ctrl +R you force a page refresh, which should then show the post.

| | | Re: a question I use Safari (Mac) - I've emptied cache, cleared cookies and history - makes no difference, I still have to refresh every time to see the updated view.
Funny thing is that it's only started doing this recently - in the last 4 weeks or so, in fact .
A thread was raised recently on a similar subject (link below) - I started it on 16th Feb as I had a problem on visiting the Gallery, then other people chipped in with problems they were having which fit in with this thread. Gallery Front Page.

| | | Re: a question Yes, it's a minor peculiarity of this forum that you need to refresh to see an up-to-date screen - it's not automatic. You can use CNT-R as mentioned but I.E. and most other browsers have a refresh key (on IE two little green up-down arrows).
With regard to clearing cookies - this has its downside if, like me, you forget your passwords, user names &c. Clear cookies and you have to re-enter these every time ...... |
