Nest box building

Our local Nature reserve had a nest box building day here on Saturday. Lots off young Children came along to build nest boxes. All went away happy with what Bird boxes they had Knocked up. I had 2 boxes a Greatt and blue tit Box. The great tit hole in the box is I am told 28mm and the Blue tits is 25mm and I think 30mm for the tree sparrow. Please let me know if I am Wrong.

BUT

I thought i'd tell you about the time I was 16 and I went to the college I was eventually attending for an open day. We were shown around the tech blocks, the art studios and the workshops for wood. We got shown how to make bird boxes...which I was pleased about, of course. The only trouble was, I used the wrong nails, which were way too big. I opened the lid and it looked like a spike pit. So I got told off for being rubbish, and then he told me that it would harm birds if they were to go in it (Like I hadn't guessed this)...Of course I wasn't going to use it!!! So don't have a go at me, I'd have never used it

I've not made one since, but I might just have a go With the right nails this time

At least you tried and as long as you didnt spike the poor little Blue tits to Death. tell us if you succeed this time.

Lol, I will keep you updated on the birdbox situation I didn't spike anyone. If I had have done, it'd have been the man telling me I was rubbish
