The only trouble I've ever had was some years ago, when I got a letter from the bank advising me that my unauthorised overdraft must be paid off at once. I telephoned the bank and asked them to check, as my account was well in credit. They were rather stroppy, but said they would ring back. A little later a very apologetic telephone call explained that the bank had accidentally paid somebody else's standing orders with my money, and it had been sorted out and they had made sure it would never happen again. So that was that, till the next month when they did the same thing again! I stopped using that account, and left it with about £2 in it (which didn't seem to be my money, but a product of all their messing about) for years until they eventually asked me to close it.
