Need assistance please!

Good morning guys, I've had a rather rushed and stressful previous couple of days. A good friend of mine and I have been designing, constructing and completing my website, which is now indeed finished, hurrah!!!

BUT

I NEED to know how to get it online!!! I bought my domain name over a year ago and that's all still fine. So i've got that on Netbenefit.co.uk, and that's all alright...

WEBSPACE = a pain in the botty I actually looked at lots and even invested in a reasonably priced package to test out, but then I realised that I only had slight knowledge of it. They emailed me with loads of jibber jabber...so I asked for a refund (They do refunds ) because there's no way I was going to be able to do it. Then I sulked for the rest of the evening and got a right strop on, cursing at websites for lack of simplicity in their methods. I PM'd Barbara and Galanthus to ask, which got me a little further, and thank you both for your prompt and helpful replies Then I'd had enough and I sulked some more...

All I want to do is buy webspace, apply my domain name to it, and upload the site to it. Can anyone here, because a few people have their own sites, please, please give me all of the advice or help that they can.

I'm quite disappointed as I wanted to get it online on the 29th Feb, but there's no point wallowing.

Although I have a website, unfortunately I can not help you Nick.

All the pain and stress of designing and uploading was taken away from me by signing up to Photium.

Good luck .... there must be someone here on WAB who knows what to do.

Don't forget to give us the web address when you manage to go live.

your isp may have webspace with your package and you may be able to transfer your domain name to it, and then use an ftp programme which included in design package like dreamweaver to upload to site. Also ISP if they have web sapce included in your package will have the ability to upload your site.

Hi,

First job is to get yourself some webspace - my wife uses fasthost but there are loads about. They will then offer a variety of packages, e.g. windows based packaged for a static site or another option far taking payments etc... They may ask you to buy a web address for them for a nominal amount or you can trasnfer your existing one - they will adivse you on what's best.

They will give you a username and ftp password and you can use this with any ftp program (wiseftp is free and user friendly) to upload pages.
