I certainly heard and felt it here just out of Manchester!

Wouldn't dream of blaming global warming Though I do wonder what caused so many earthquakes in one period of time?

| | | Re: whole house shook Global Warming? Who said that
Anyway, having told the two ladies that emerged from their room screaming, that it was their possessed room that was causing the shaking objects, I laughed to myself. Then I logged onto Sky news as I do regularly, to see... "Tremors felt across Britain..."
Needless to say they were relieved that their room wasn't 'haunted' and they were spooked that we had an earthquake. I have to say, I'm no more than 8 metres away from that room and I felt zilch...
Weird. |

annmaria | It was certainly loud here. Started of as a low rumble then increased to a roar with the house shaking in synch. As it passed under the house the noise lessened.
Exactly as it should do if we imagine a 'wave' and visualise an expanding circle.

| | | Re: whole house shook I sleep like a log, yet it woke me up. It's the first time I have ever felt an earthquake/tremor and was quite surprised just how much the house seemed to shake.
I dashed down in the morning to check the news about it.

| | | Re: whole house shook It was well felt in South Yorks and I've been amused by what people say they put it down to .... Many, like me, thought it was the wife falling out of bed, a book shelf falling over or maybe the building collapsing (if you knew these building like I do ).
Some thought of bombs or other weapons.....
.... but a surprising number say that thought it was a ghost. These are supposedly mature people (including men ) .... the mind boggles .... |

| | | Re: whole house shook We're 35 miles from the epicenter and we felt it full on. Althougth the whole thing was over in less than 30 seconds we are still reeling about how much the house (and everything inside it) shook. Because there was no evident damage to our property, it seems like a weird dream now. |
