Re: TASK for the week

I think its a good idea, especially seeing as the wet weather looks to be staying for the next few days at least.

Here's a starter for 10......

Mine is to stop flippin falling over one of these days someone might think I am drunk and have me arrested for drunk and disorderly .Ha ha I maight add I dont drink only on special occasions like this week when I go out to celebrate my 35th wedding anniversary (today) and my daughters birthday (wednesday) and to present my youngest daughter with the captains cup for darts in memory of my sister (Friday). After hardly ever drinking I wont know whats hit me
I doubt I will even manage to get any photos this week and if I do they will be blurred or will that be just my eyesight that will be blurred

Re: TASK for the week

I try to set myself a task every week at least, something to concentrate my mind on and stimulate thought and give me a process to work on. Then I analyse what has been achieved. Sometimes it is easy and sometimes hard. Depends on the previous week mostly

It's nearly Summer, you could always abandon the waders, put on your swimming cossy/bikini and just get in there

They say you dont notice the cold after the first 20 seconds!!

Have you looked out of the window today?!!!
Actually I was considering just abandoning the waterproofs today and tomorrow as frankly I'm not going to win against this weather.....
and just have some lovely dry clothes in the car

a bikini's pushing it just a little bit too far though.......

Yeah, point taken Gill - we all need some decent weather, I'm supposed to be going on a Dingy/Grizzled Skipper ID/habitat survey in the morning, somehow I dont think there will be many about unless it drastically improves

you should invest in some chest waders, though mind you last time I went newt (egg) surveying I fell out of the boat whilst wearing chest waders (low points for both artistic interpretation and technical merit ) and then found that I couldnt stand up because my chest waders were full of water

Fortunately the brook wasnt very deep so I just sat there like a large, sub aquatic budha, until my stalwart colleagues stopped laughing and pulled me out.

Re: TASK for the week

CherryBee,the lioness went out to clean the pond filter in the pouring rain, lost her footing slid down the rill and ended up to her chest in the pond, legs badly bruised and could not stop laughing
she sends her regards to a fellow "Kelly"

That is the funniest thing I've heard all day!!!!! shouldn't laugh because Im very likely to do something similar today!!!
I've also heard that chest waders are the best for escaping quicksand too but I don't think I'll try that just yet!!!

Re: TASK for the week

I should point out that I am neither large nor buhda like normally, it was the water bloating the waders that gave that impression, you understand :-)

I really must stop falling out of our boat, yesterday made it 3 times this financial year and 8 times in total, I am consquently on my 4th mobile phone and 3rd set of keys. but hey it provides entertainment for the masses.

I also once turned a floating hide over while photographing courting grebes, that wasnt funny at all as it cost me an Eos 30 and a 170-500 lens ( fortunately my flashtrax was in a watertight bag).
