Rules - Please read

My decision is final.
Highjackers will be evicted (please keep this as clean a thread as possible so as to avoid confusion). I will open up another thread called World Cup Discussion. Then that is it. NO MORE FOOTBALL THREADS PLEASE FOR THE DURATION OF THE CUP FINALS.
Each Team gets one number, which relates to a football team playing in the World Cup.
I have labelled all 32 entries and will denote your football team as and when I receive your request for a number and your Team name.
I would appreciate only true football fans enter the competition - for obvious reasons. Not everybody is online tonight and I want true fans to get into this. If you are not a follower of footie and only show interest for World Cups please do not apply - you will be denying a proper fan some fun

I have tonight asked Stuart to pick a number for his Team. Gill Catton gets next choice for our Team. My Team consists of myself and Gill. (Team leaders are at liberty to choose other Team members.) The football teams of Stu and I will be revealed by process of elimination. The number that Stuart chose was 28. Gill I need a number from you as soon as poss please.

Fantastic. I think it is best that I only reveal the football teams when all of the Teams have been received. This way if all the favourites go quickly we can still maintain interest. Good luck Mark

Does the fact that I had a season ticket for Birmingham City F.C for over 25 years, plus I ran my own football side for 25 years also, qualify me as a fan.

The Blues Boys are my team, which consists of just me, unless anyone else wants to join me. Can I have a number please.

John, You have to wait until Gill has picked a number for our Team first.

Once Gill picks everyone else gets a number - ladies first.

Up until Altrincham beat us 2-1 in the F.A cup (in the Ron Saunders days) I had only missed one home game in 25 years (and that was when the season kicked off two weeks earlier than usual, and I was on holiday, and we were beaten 3-4 by Fulham after being 3-0 in the lead). OK no more suggested numbers please. It will only put undue pressure on Gill. It is first come first served and obviously I cant pick a number for our team. This is the only fair way I could think of doing this so please register your team by all means but only a Team name at this point.

Fourwings - do you want to give me a Team name or are you happy to stick with Fourwings?

StuartDH has the numbers for the favourites now just to oversee that there is no monkey business. But you are going to have to trust me guys. I basically took a Panini Football Album and randomly wrote numbers 1-32 next to the football teams participating in the finals. Nothing more technical available I am afraid
