| | my finch Hello everybody, not sure if anybody can help on this forum. I own a black headed goldiean finch and his head seems to be going white does anybody know why. thanks tom. |

| | | Re: my finch Thanks for the reply epops, I think he is about 2 i dont no a lot about finchs so i dont no how to tell if he is moulting, he as got white speckles over his head wher it used to be dark black. I dont think hes moulting because he hasent got any bald paches but ime no expert. cheers tom |

| | | Re: my finch Hi tombong1 your finch wouldnt have bald patches if he is moulting,you just find feathers more than usual,dose he live in a cage in the house ?if so is he too close to heating of any sort, because if he is he will through his feathers out as he is too warm,this is nature taking a hand at keeping him cool,indoor birds tend to mault in the winter because we have our central heating on and the bird thinks summer is here so he moults,as for changing colour some birds do this,you say he is two are you sure, because if he is younger he might be getting his adult feathers,they are not always the same colour as his baby feathers. |
