| | | Re: New collins guide !! This is just an updated book that's already been out, but there is a new UK butterfly book due (can't remember the details)- I thought not another one as there have been so many, but this new one is supposed to be more complete with all races/forms illustrated, so could be interesting. |

| | | Re: New collins guide !! I've got an earlier edition of this guide and it's brilliant, Richard Lewington's pictures are great as always and overall the guide's proved very useful when I've been elsewhere in Europe.

| | | Re: New collins guide !! Dan's post reminded me to check my butterfly book, it's the Collins (Higgins and Riley) edition from 1980 Way out of date, may purchase the new one then, looks good. I feel so old.

| | | Re: New collins guide !! I have had since the early 80's " A Handguide to the Butterflies and Moths of Britain and Europe" Treasure Press.
Someone bought it for me after we found a elephant hawk moth caterpillar in the garden and didn't know what it was so took it to the museum where they ID'd it for us.
I was very lucky to find a copy in very good condition in a charity shop last year as my original was in pieces.
I like books with illustrations |
