| | | where are you going for holls? We have just booked another two weeks holiday in the lovely St Ives. Cornwall. We stay in a caravan on the cliff top caravan park Ayr.
This is a little of the wildlife we saw last year.
Seals are often seen around St Ives.
This is seagullhenge. They were sitting huddled together on the very windy beach.
This cormorant turned up in the middle of a very busy St Ives.
We also saw a Slow Worm but didn't get a pic.
Tell us where your off to on your hols this summer. |

| | | Re: where are you going for holls? Hi Kayleigh,
We spent a lovely 2 weeks in Cornwall last summer. It was great for wildlife, even saw 2 Basking sharks at Lands end. This year so far we'll be going to Pwllheli in Wales in March, great for Adders and I like to keep an eye on them. In Summer we'll be going to Devon for 2 weeks, hope to see loads down there. We may turn up in some other areas yet, I quite fancy Yorkshire too.

Are any of them still there? I'd love to be able to move back there one day. Spent the best years there, had the best fun and the scenery and wildlife, I could go on but would just bore people!

We're staying in a little cottage in a remote glen called Glenlyon; mountains in front, mountains behind, waterfall and river past the garden and the only neighbours for miles that we see are deer and birds! We went there 4 years ago and fell in love with the place, shame it's taken us 4 years to go back!

| | | Re: where are you going for holls? We haven't been for a "proper" holiday for 5 years, for one reason or another. Last year we promised ourselves a few weekends away when the weather was right, we're still waiting for the weather to be right!
I'm off to Centre Parcs on 1st Feb, a freebie! The only thing I'll be doing there is gluing myself onto one of the seats in their hide. |

Usually see dolphins, manatees, pelicans, sharks, turtles, lizards and lots and lots of other fish and birds.... wildlife watching heaven! |

The fact that it is possibly the best area in the UK for Dragon/Damselflies and loads of other insects has absolutely nothing to do with it |

You could go down to Cape and see if the dolphins are there - they used to go round to Porthcurno way. Should get basking sharks at Porthcurno too but guess you know that already

Oops, just thought I'll miss the Thursley meet and I was gonna guide Roger to it !! Sorry Roger.

My Mum is Cornish and spent most of my holidays as a child vsiting relations. As i got older i found i prefered going to untouristy places. We normally just turn off the main road somewhere and drive until we find out of the way spots to stay.( being from devon I dont do tourists)
We use to go camping during the summer (new Forest, Burnham on sea, Slapton). But now we have the two alsatians camping isnt a option,(two wet smelly dogs in a tent isn't nice )
We now stay at steves parents static caravan on a country park which covers 200 acres of parkland, It use to be a gravel pit. It has a beautiful lakes, Great wildlife, Lots of Birds such as kingfishers and herons, Cormorants, (has a hide) It also has a brilliant abundance of dragonfiles and mayflies, along with many other insects and mammals. Dogs have to be kept on a lead at all times, But thre are two huge fields where dogs can run off the lead
It is a mile from the Town of Olney which is very quaint (use to make lace there once) and 10 miles east of the centre of Milton Keynes.. but it feels like your miles from anywhere. We come back feeling completely refreshed and chilled out. It opens again in March and we will be up there most weekends as well as the odd weeks break till it closes to campers of any sort at end of October. It is also open to the public you pay a small entrance fee of
VEHICLE ENTRANCE PER DAY April - October £3.00
(Day of Issue Only) November - March £1.80 If on foot access is free
You can camp from 16.50 per night.. ( these were last years prices)
Roll On March
