| | | Re: Mountain Rescue Dogs in Training Thanks for sharing these photos Bill. I hope I never find myself in need of their assistance but it's always re-assuring to know there are people (and their dogs ) willing to give up their time to undertake this sort of thing and, when needed, to expose themselves to danger in the interests of others. I have nothing but the highest regard for our Mountain Rescue teams.

| | | Re: Mountain Rescue Dogs in Training They were taken today I went to get pics of the area and spent 2 hours watching them it was fantastic how the dogs can detect the person but in this case a dummy in the frozen snow.
But did manage to get some pics in process of checking them just now

Apparently there'll be another one about 'the mountains' on tomorrow night's show

Hmmm, don't know about that Julie - in tonight's feature on the TV one of the Mountain Rescue Team volunteers walked off into the hills (with all the right gear and multi-layers of clothing of course) and snuggled up against a rock in a bivvy bag to await his 'rescue'. It started to snow and took the team 3 hours to find him, by which time and despite his preparedness he was very cold indeed. In fact, he reckoned that within another hour or so he would have started to suffer from hypothermia
Now I like my bacon butties.....but I'm not that keen

Jeff | Ok...i get your point there...you dont think they might have gone off for a quick pint or two or three before setting off to find him..
So maybe i could be a volunteer during the summer months then....
