How Green is this Holiday

Just a bit of fun but is this likely to become the transport of the future?

Guess that's what you call cosy! If the scooter runs on chocolate - guess it's pretty green!

The scooter (if I remember right?) ran on a mixture of petrol and oil.... I remember dad had to carry a little bottle of measured oil around ready for the next fuel up!

Did you notice the weather? Blue, calm and beautiful - now tell me I remember everything with rose coloured specs and that the weather wasn't better in days of yore Yes I know - I remember the winter of 1962/3 perfectly well.............

Also did you see how little traffic there was on the road.............. say no more

You sure did. I remember the stiletto days well from my biking days. Up in Scotland we had a name for women wearing the white ones, which I couldn't put into print - ".... me shoes"

Re: How Green is this Holiday

2-stroke fuel - it used to come ready-measured from its own pump in my day. When did scooters start running on ordinary petrol?

My own Lambretta had a job taking two people up a hill and would never have survived with that load - notice that it was only filmed on the flat! Good job they didn't want to do a mountain holiday

Good job there wasn't much traffic on the road since they were driving all over it ....

Yes - thats it 2-stroke - I'd forgotten thats what its called - you'd think I'd remember that as we use it in the strimmers etc (not that I've done any strimming for a while!) I don't know when or which bike - it might have been the Vespa - and I don't know why he carried his own - but I do remember him unwrapping it from its oily rag and pouring it in - I would have been 11 - 13 ish so that would be 1964/5 time .............
