Vomiting Bug hits Britain

Been hearing about this Winter Vomiting bug that has hit Britain over christmas...They are estimating around 1000,000 aweek are coming down with this illness...Certain hospital wards across the country have been closed.

So if any of our members have been struck down with this take care and may you get well soon ...

yes indeed, I suppose WAB is one of the few places you can come to chat with people with no risk of passing the infection on!

Re: Vomiting Bug hits Britain

The same bug went around at work end of November. I work in a care home which is part of a complex of 8 homes in total.

I suppose the residents are particularly susceptible but the speed in which every house was hit with it was scary.

Luckily I didn't get it, but so many people did.

I, too, hope that any one who is ill gets well soon!

Me my Wife & Son all had the bug starting on boxing day, pretty grim to say the least took 4 days to be clear of it!

I know what you mean. I always remember my 3 having a vomiting bug a couple of years ago, ages 9, 7 and 3ys. It was awful, running around from one bedoom to the other, all the cleaning, it was a nightmare.

Going back to the winter vomiting bug, thankfully we are all free of it at the moment but the local hospital has already shut one ward and may be shutting another.

You and me both! I am so fed up of it and let's face it all around me are fed up with me sniffing, coughing and blowing my nose all the time! I've had it since 24th December - brilliant timing.

Ditto, except as usual I surpassed that - sneezed and tore a muscle in my neck and had to get my GP out as I was literally stuck in bed! Still off work now

Very true Gill .... but then again WAB can become an infectious bug with no cure .

Best wishes to all those that have been struck down with the virus that is going around. Fortunately I have been exempted so far.
