| | | Non wildlife interests? Oh dear and i'm being nosy yet again! Just wondered what peoples interests were outside of wildlife and environmental ones? Either recent ones, lapsed ones or ones you'd like to do if time allowed.
Anything to do with playing about in water for me and I'd love to learn to parasurf - saw them doing it when i went back to Cornwall last summer and it looked great fun! I used to belong to a reenactment group, Regia Anglorum, but was more on the living history side than the fighting side. I like board games i.e The Gothic Game. I read and have an eclectic taste in music. Guess gardening and walking count as wildlife / environment?
There that's me - what about you?

| | | Re: Non wildlife interests? Does fishing count as a non-wildlife interest, suppose it doesn't really. But apart from me bird watching, Butterfly, Bats etc it's what I do most the time, just spent £350 on a new set of rods |

Yes, I like music, theatre, reading, football ... but I manage to do them mainly in the hours of darkness: much prefer walking the woods, dales, moors, cemeteries, supermarkets ( ) Nobody with any sense plays about with water in Yorkshire! Quote:

| | | Re: Non wildlife interests? Well, it's horses for courses, I've still got twenty-year old Levis and tracksuits so I'm not going to start making my own skirts yet ...
I do admire people who can make clothes but can one really make trousers, especially jeans? Quote:

Birdwa....Uhhh noo
I say that, I do actually have loads going on...Maybe too much. Well, I play electric guitar (Been playing about 10 years), Photography in general is an important one as most of you will know that I'm a Photography Degree student. I love gaming and run my own gaming forum which has been open since Feb '07. I'm partial to the odd pint of decent ale as I've been brought up to appreciate good beer. My Dad writes for the CAMRA Norfolk Branch. I love music; many varieties. From Slayer to Aphex Twin and from Jethro Tull to Cannibal Corpse.
I'm such a big kid! But I'd have it no other way

Cooking I suppose is a big one especially big stews and curries at the weekend - like to make my own curry pasts and spice mixes - I find it theraputic though its frequently difficult to replicate the mixes I end up with!!
I like growing things that don't need much attention especially stange herbs and chillis.
I love music I have a big cd collection but I am the worlds worst music geek because I can never remember the names of tracks and frequently even bands and don't get to enough gigs.....
I like going to the pub, especially if theres a stroll through the countryside and ham, egg and chips involved.
I like walking but not when I have to walk to someone elses pace - don't they understand I NEED to know what all the birds / butterflies / plants are and increasingly I NEED a good photo .... I just can't hurry.....
I like reading and still do plenty, I like drawing and painting but haven't done anything in over a couple of years.......
oh and photography but I need more money for this.......

| | | Re: Non wildlife interests? For me it's mostly photography and SCUBA diving... The attraction of both those is the wildlife for me mind you! I do a wee bit of climbing every so often, bit of wandering the countryside and I love being at sea! On murky days I'll usually be inside playing games on my PC or watching tv
