im curious though, does anyone know exactly how , why, you can get money for used stamps?...what do they do with them?....

| | | Re: Save the Albatross If you look in W H Smiths or a proper philatelist supplier, you will see bags of 'beginners'' stamps at a low price - a rag tag mix of cheap used stamps. In UK these will mainly be from USA, western Europe or Australia as well as UK. If you bought the same in USA, western Europe or Australia, you would find a lot of basic British stamps! Not big money but it adds up.
Also, apparently, they do have someone looking through all the dreary stamps to see if there are any aberrations (printing errors and the like) which can bring in serious money ... would be missed by most of us normal people!
It would not be worth you or I trying to sell our routine stamps (unless we can pick out a rarity) but for big organisations who sell by the weight, it's a nice little earner. Quote:

However it is they make money im not fussed..ill send the stamps and they can do their stuff with them...anything to help the beautiful Albatross.
