| | | Watery Eyes How do you folk deal with the problem of watery eyes when it's windy? Daft question I know, but it's a real nuisance to me when I'm using my bins or even trying to walk a path without tripping. I wear glasses for reading but not at other times. Without resorting to diving goggles what do you do?
It plays hell with my mascara too!
Ps I've tried walking backwards against the wind and I just look...daft!

Julie | And with me its my right eye - as soon as I go outside it runs and runs - yet funnily enough it runs less with my contact lenses in and more when just wearing glasses? Odd buts that me!
So when I have contacts in I wear 'eye protector' glasses - the sort that we have to wear at work when strimming, hedge cutting etc. Mine have a sweet blue rim across the top and I don't think they look all that daft ............ well I've got past bothering about daft - just so long as I can see better, have a dry face and be comfortable without getting dust in - as anyone who wears contacts will know is a nightmare - like having half a brick in
I've never really thought about it but maybe wrap around sunglasses in a very light pink or mauve graded tint might be a more fashionable or sexy-looking answer??

| | | Re: Watery Eyes Blimey it's not just me then. It really winds me up when I can't see through the screen of water. That's when I miss something.
So we need someone to invent windproof glasses. Over to Nightshade methinks!

| | | Re: Watery Eyes While out early this morning met up with my postman...poor chap both his eyes were crying from the strong wind..For me it was ok as most of the time the wind was coming from behind driving me along.. ..In thinking its not the colour your eyes that make a difference you either suffer from watery eyes or you dont..

| | | Re: Watery Eyes I've heard it said that blue and/or western eyes are sometimes more prone to those yellowish looking fatty deposits on the white part of the eye (sorry, I cannot recall the proper medical term). Apparently it's more common in those that travel to hot and dusty countries or face into the prevailing wind a lot (such as in bicycle riding.) My husband has extremely pale blue eyes, and indeed he has travelled a lot and also has been a keen bike rider in his younger days! And this is what the doctor told him when he enquired about the globby bits in his eyes. Perhaps there is a weakness linked with colour...
(Mine are green, and though not sensitive to wind, they are very sensitive to light, even car headlights hurt them, night-driving is awful for me ) |
