Angry Feeling annoyed

As you all know by now I have had some really bad luck in the last couple of months with my moped being stolen and unable to get out and about as much with my nature photos and also my camera went for repair leaving me with one that only has a 3x zoom which I have been using and getting some nice photos although I missed my other one which was much better on macro and zoom.Well I thought things were on the up as I am now back on the road and out and about with a new scooter, but I have been delt a blow again.Initially I was told my camera would be back within 30 days only to be told I should have been told 4 to 6 weeks under my insurence scheme.Well It is now 3 days over the 6 weeks and in the last two days I have called Jessops and they got back to me this afternoon to say they have managed to get hold of the repair shop only to be told that they are waiting for parts and could not give any idea when I will get my camera back.I was seething (still am).I said I needed it back and I was unhappy, they actually offered me some throwaway cameras with free processing while I was waiting The lady on the phone was most sympathetic but it wasnt her fault but THROWAWAY CAMERAS As if thats any good for me
Sorry to go on but I need to let off some steam and the computer screen cant answer me
and I know you will all sympathise as you all love your cameras too

Re: Feeling annoyed

Hi CB

Not having much luck are you.
Looks like you will just have to be patient for a while longer although i can see why you are annoyed when they tell you one thing but mean something else.

I would use the opportunity to plan where you are going to go and what you are going to take photos of when your camera comes back then wow us all when you put them up in the gallery.

I don't suppose i have cheered you up at all but at least i have tried.

Re: Feeling annoyed

A real horror story.............I do sympathize.

I would rather my wife went away for 6 weeks than my camera!

Re: Feeling annoyed

Hi CB

I am really surprised that Jessops only offered you a throwaway as they offered me almost anything I wanted (2nd hand wise) whilst I was having my camera repaired. The only problem was they didn'y have any digiscoping camera's left (now out of production) but I could have used an ordinary digital camera in place of it if I wanted to (which I declined).

I have found Jessops usually go that extra yard to please customers. You must have a store manager that isn't as motivated as most.

If it goes on much longer get in touch with Jessops head office and complain. It may do the trick.

John

The girl I spoke to was very good she kept chasing it up and this morning even phoned to let me know they still had not managed to get the repair shop on the phone and that she was ringing me to appologise and let me know what is happening.I think she was a disgusted as I was.But she had to keep referring to her superviser.I am going to Exeter on Saturday as I am helping my daughter to buy a computer and Jessops will be my second stop.I feel I need to speak directly to management and will emphasise how the women who spoke to me was extremly good but that I am not happy with being given two different dates in the first place and one excuse from the repair shop was to do with konica merging with someone else and may be difficult getting the part.Well that happened a while ago and they must have known that when I took it in in the first place.I will be pleasant but will also point out that they have sold 3 cameras in the last year thanks to my recommendations and my presence at the sales so if they want more customers I think I deserve a bit more than an offer of a throwaway

Re: Feeling annoyed

CB

Check on the Jessops website and see if they have your model, or one like it, anywhere as 2nd hand. If they have suggest to them that you would like to use it as a replacement whilst your camera is being repaired.

I have even had a camera sent to somewhere other than where I live so it would be possible to get one sent to a Jessops in Exeter from whatever shop has one.

It might be worth trying whilst you are complaining.

John

Re: Feeling annoyed

I sympathise with you on the camera problems CB, you are certainly having some rotten luck.
As you mention you are going to complain and that may do the trick or at least get you a loan camera of the same spec until yours is ready.
Anyway chin up and keep smiling try not to let these things get you down and keep posting on here to let off steam, if it's any consolation you have posted some very nice photos just recently, especially of scenery. and I mean that sincerely.
Ollie.
