Castleton Christmas Lights.

This evening we drove over to Castleton in Derbyshire to see the Christmas Lights. It's only a small place, with just the main road running through.
After a week with nothing to take pictures of, I had to take some of the lights.

Here's a few:

This last one is where we had our meal. Very nice too!

Re: Castleton Christmas Lights.

Looks lovely, very festive!
We're going to see lights at Bradfield Southend, a village near us tomorrow. Every year a large number of houses each put on their own individual displays, some of which are amazing. It's all in aid of local charities with a collection box in each garden and has raised some truly amazing amounts in recent years.
I just hope I can manage some photos as good as yours Graham, though I'm not confidant I can

Re: Castleton Christmas Lights.

Castleton is lovely. I've visited a few times and a couple of years ago was there when they were in the process of putting the lights up. Even then, in daylight, the atmosphere was very festive. If my premium bonds come up I definitely want to spend a Christmas/New Year there!

Re: Castleton Christmas Lights.

Very nice work Graham, I like the third one especially with the light trails, presumably from passing vehicles.

Thanks Roger. Yes, car rear lights. I like the fact you get the lights but not the cars!
That one was 3.2sec F13.0. I obviously used a tripod..a rare event for me!

We walked out of one of the pubs for the same reason.
The three roofs is excellent though, very good food.

These are great photos. I went to the Peak District in 2006 and stayed near Castleton and it is very pretty. I went to the pub off the high street near the church. Friendly pub and welcoming to those with well-behaved dogs.
