I would just like to wish Roger (Ollie) the all the best for tonight. It's his first ever public slide show presentation and he'll be giving it to the local branch of the Lincs Wildlife Trust.

I have no doubt that it will be an excellent night, just sorry 'cause I don't think I can make it Roger.

Thanks for the kind words of encouragement everyone.

Never having spoken in public before and being what I would term shy rather than out spoken I was very nervous. Following my notes became a nightmare and in the end I just gave up trying to follow them and spoke off the top of my head if you get my drift and it worked out pretty well, no one walked out or heckled me anyway

I managed to fill the first hour hour by giving a talk on the various aspects of photography with a DSLR with an emphasis on my local patch Messinghan Nature Reserve, and by showing the equipment I use.

The slide show filled the second hour and I think people were suitably impressed by the couple of hundred photos I had prepared.

All in all a good night with plenty of feedback from a great audience at the end of the evening.

The good thing about doing photographic shows and presentations is that you are in a darkened room and you don't get nervous because people can't see you

Glad to hear the talk went well Roger, its no wonder everyone was impressed as you've got some magnificent shots!

Well Graham, seeing as it was you who inspired me to further my photography skills when I first joined WAB nearly two years ago (doesn't time fly by) and it was you who has freely given me so much great advice and encouragement and some great days out, there will be no charge.
