Trust you to notice cherrybee
I took the decision to leave the moderating team earlier this week as I'm just getting too busy at work. Stuart wanted me to stay but I felt that would not be in the best interests of the site.
I hope you were not offended by some of my rejections and took my feedback constructively, it was my intention to help people improve on their photography and I think that the gallery is looking great.
Anyone that wants advice on images or camera equipment is welcome to contact me personally via my website www.kevin-bates.com
I wish you all well, keep on uploading those images and enjoy the site!

Should be interesting to hear what he has been up to during the past fortnight.

I know that I have learned a lot from him.
Incidentally there are no staff on WAB but only volunteers who give their time freely for the love of WAB and British Wildlife.

| | | Re: Where Digi- I'm really sad to hear about your decision to leave. I understand that your reasons are personal, therefore it's not for us to question it. From my part I would like to thank you very much for all you have done for WAB and for encouraging me and my husband too into trying wildlife photography ourselves. Your photo's have been spectacular and I have enjoyed seeing them immensely. I will be popping into your website regularly and enjoying that. Thanks again. All the best. A sad WW. Julie |

| | | Re: Where I agree with Matt, TERRIBLE NEWS. However I'm sure both gave careful thought before making their decisions. Like Glsammy, Digi was a much valued part and contibutor to WAB. I found great interest not only in the EXCELLENT images that Digi submitted, but in the contribution he made to the forum, particularly on 'photographic equipment'. I know he had some influence on my recent decision to purchase an Olympus E500. I was undecided on 'what to buy',but fancied the Olympus and Digi's comments on the forum was enough for me to make that decision. So Digi I thank you for that and for allowing us to view your excellent images. I wish you all the very best in the future. I will visit your 'web site' from time to time as I'm sure there will always be something of interest to view.

| | | Re: Where Whatever you're upto now Kev (digi), I wish you all the best mate. I've really appreciated all your advice and I'll especially miss the banter with you . Good things never last forever though, and it's often best to make a fresh start at things - gets your enthusiasm going. I'm sure your photography will benifit from this and the extra time you can devote to it.
So best wishes for the future, and make sure you keep an eye on Graham - just to make sure he knows what he's doing! , and Graham, make sure you keep an eye on Kev - just to pull his leg
Bye from me, and keep them cameras clicking boys |

| | | Re: Where It was beryl that noticed and told me so I went on a search.I was horrified to find them all gone.I had noticed you had not put any up recently but was looking forward to some more outstanding stuff.I for one will miss you along with many others and hope you might change your mind one day.You have always been my inspiration and helpful to me altough i could never compete without the right gear but it is partly because of you and your help that I now go out virtually everyday.
I suffer from depression as well as some physical problems but my sisters thought I had left the planet cos they never see me.They also have been impressed with my gallery and also when I finally went around yesterday (they live nearby) instaed of takin the mick as they always do have said there is a great change in me that I look more toned and happier than I have in years. They said I even sound different, more positive in myself and that is thanks to the website and mostly you and GLSammy
I would be overjoyed to see you back if ever you changed your mind.Take it from me you were GREAT.
Oh and your website is wonderful.

| | | Re: Where Couldn't let this go without having a say, but with both glsammy and digi gone we have lost a couple of great contributers to WAB. However as mentioned their reasons are personal and it is not for us to question why. Both glsammy and digi have been an inspiration to me to improve my photography skills and I shall miss the imput of both of them.
Thanks for everything if either of you read this and all the best for the future.

I am truly sorry to see you go. You are a worthy contributor and if you do read this I would like you to reconsider dropping out of this site. Photos as good as yours are hard to come by and this forum will lose some precious images because of your departure.
There were times when I thought of pulling out (I actually did a few months ago - as Stuart will testify) but reconsidered and came back.
This is an excellent site that is coming along nicely and we do not want to lose contributors of your calibre. I understand the moderators bit as the pressures can get quite immense at times. That is why I can't spare the time but I have compromised and help on the odd occasion. Better that than pulling out alltogether.
Please Kev, take a deep breath and reconsider. I would love to see you back in the fold mate.

Well i for one am sorry to see you leave..........i am not a photographer but you have given me food for thought on some issues of photography and much pleasure when viewing your images.
I don't fully understand your reasons for going but i am sure you feel you came to the right decision....if you reconsider and decide to come back or visit then that would be great.
Wishing you all the best and many thanks for your input to WAB.

| | | Re: Where Is there something in the air at the moment that is bad or something, on all the forums I go on (crikey, perhaps its me !) there has been problems with one thing or the other, people have been getting upset, and now here on a nature sight a couple of prominent members have upped and left, leaving us all wondering what the hell is going on. I feel sad now.
Digi..........Just want to wish you all the best and thank you for all the hard work you have put into this site, but as John has said, please don't just disappear, come back and say hello from time to time.....................Jon |

Beryl | Graham's been turned around and he is back in the fold. Now all we have to do is work on digi somehow.
