| | | Vodafone Mobile Broadband USb 7.2 Just got a Vodafone Mobile Broadband USb 7.2 so I can stay connected while up in Scotland for the next few weeks. I'm currently on the train and I'm very impressed with it so far.
Vodafone customer services has been pretty horrendous, but the product does a great job. I'm currently about 20 miles north of Lockerbie and I've been connected all the way from Manchester. Around the big cities I'm getting very fast download speeds that feel exactly the same as my 8MB connection at home, and out here in the sticks I'm still getting good speeds that seem a lot quicker than the old dial-up days, and feel more like a 1MB broadband connection.
The real test will come when I arrive tonight in the log cabin in the middle of nowhere If anyone from Vodafone is reading this, we could do with a few more of these for Wabbers while we're out and about and still need to be connected, so get in touch if you fancy donating a few to the charity
Stu
P.S. While I'm on, these new virgin trains are pretty cool too...my desk has got a socket for the laptop, the coffee's good, and we're all leaning around a corner at 100+ mph at the moment |

| | | Re: Vodafone Mobile Broadband USb 7.2 Hi stuart,
I recently unlocked my phone, it's 3G, very slow, anyway I tried all the available SIM cards in it, the only two with any worthwhile signal were Orange and Vodafone, I stayed with Orange, listening to hearesay Orange is/was the only one that works in most of Devon, it seems it's pot luck if you get any type of signal, move a foot to the right on the left hand side and no signal.
If we don't get an answer, we'll have to assume you've no signal or been devoured by the wolves.
Max.

| | | Re: Vodafone Mobile Broadband USb 7.2 Hi Stuart, Fear not, the wolf is now extinct in Scotland, Hunted to extinction by the Wildhaggis. The Haggis now is a beastie to be wary of, it can come back on you days after you think you have polished it off regards Jon. |

Here's a few quick pics from this morning...
The valley is clear, but the mountains over the back are covered in tons of snow.
As you can imagine, it's hell out here, it's pitch black and completely silent at night, and I almost got a splinter when I lit the log fire this morning. But try not to worry about me, the war will be over soon and I'll be home before Christmas just you wait and see
