When I lived at home with my parents we had a dog, 2 cats, 2 chipmunks, an aquarium full of fish and a load of mice and hamsters (not all at the same time)
In my current living situation I can't have any pets unfortunately. |

I grew up in sunny South Africa and loves reptiles, so as a kid I always kept snakes as pets ( 13 different species all together ) I had my first two african egg eaters when I was only five. Some of the other species I kept where brown house snake, red lipped snake, aurora house snake, african wolf snake, tiger snake ( non venomous unlike australian tiger snake ), Mole snake ( grows up to two meters long ), african night Adder ( looks a lot like our Adders but with smooth scales ), puff Adder, rinkals, and a beautiful cape cobra called "Phillip". At the moment I share my flat with a common columbian boa called "Stanley" and a royal python called "Sebastian." I think sebastian might be a girl though.... |

as a kid i had all the usual things that i could catch, rodents!!. newts, fish ,frogs etc.etc etc, i had to keep them in the shed lol. at age 18 i wanted a dog so saved for my own a english bull terrier, & ive had one or more ever since. thinking back now to what i used to collect pet wise i would be prob jailed now, newts.salamanders thought they were lizards lol.the good old days. |

My mate Chris had an imaginary leopard that used to live at the bottom of his garden, that he'd talk to every day after school.
I know he comes on here sometimes so you will shortly be hearing all sorts of tales about me in retribution for telling this story

As a kid the first pet i could remember having was a hermans tortoise we sold him when we moved house  (not my decision) , after that i had a Dice snake i also kept Slow Worms , frogs , toads and newts and i also had a budgie 
after the tortoise i caught the reptile bug , i now have a pair of Childrens pythons , a Royal python , a Western Hognose , 6 leopard geckos and a tokay gecko i also have an African Grey , a Greater hill Mynah a ferret and a boxer dog + 3 tarantulas  |

yup my avatar is of flea my tokay hes abit nippy but not as bad as some tokays ive seen , ive seen some chase the owners when they are being cleaned out i can mess about near him when cleaning his viv and it dosent bother him one bit but if i wiggled my finger near his mouth he would nail me in a flash lol.
He can be very vocal in the early hours usally around 2/3am he barks most of the time, its true what they say it really does sound like "to-kay" when they bark |

Nice and colourful though aren't they! Always wanted one but the nippyness puts me off (friend has a pair and her fingers are always plastered over!) |

I havnt been bitten yet and ive had since he was a month old , he coming up a year now .
They all have different personalities , i treat tokays as display only animals ive only handled him once (when i moved him into a larger viv) but even then he didnt bite i let him walk onto me instead of picking him up he just casually walked onto my arm then he walked off into his new viv at the time i was amazed how easy it was tranfering him lol i was dreading doing it as i thought he would nail me in a second |

The only thing that has ever nailed me was my red tailed boa (so far), and she could have done so much worse, being 10ft long, didn't even know she had until my I noticed blood on arm, sooooooo fast!
You did well not being nailed, my friend always gets nailed just cleaning them out, lol! But then she isn't the quickest person to react! |

I had a red tail boa and he nailed me also , my fault thou he was in a temporary fish tank while i was waiting on a vivarium i ordered to be delivered . he got stuck between the glass ledges at the top of the tank so id tried to free him and he bit me on the arm , just as you described it the strike was lightning quick and there was no pain , the only pain was that it was a pain in the @55 to stop the bleeding for a little while lol |

I found a baby bird when I was young. We called it Rastas and hand reared him. I used to walk around town with him on my shoulder. Turned out to be a Starling. One day he flew off and we never saw him again. I hope he did well. |

I had a cat, 2 Garter Snakes, 3 Goldfish, 1 Budgie, Numerous Gerbils as we bred them for a while hehe Now i currently have 2 Fancy rats and a Cocker Spaniel 
With all the above you would say wow i have a zoo in my house! I do miss my pets that have passed away and find myself grieving for them for months after!
Pets are so sweet and cuddly and i excersize my rats and cocker spaniel a lot and i need to buy some rat harnesses but my local pet shop dont have any! aww, i will look online and find them

Tokays are from South East Asia, but there would have been many small lizards and geckos in Spain.
They could really be anything,
prehaps hemidactylus?
