Does any body know  why cameras, camcordera and tripods are designed for the right handed person with right eye dominance?
To have one made to spec would be very costly.

Its supply and demand Beryl simple as that. Too costly to produce alternate versions people would rather choose between a different colour like silver or black

Because right-handed people invent things (just to inconvenience left-handed people)
seriously RH are the majority so it is economic to produce lots of RH units I have seen LH
people using cameras upside down before now!
Buy one with a huge lcd viewing screen like the minolta z5

Just remember most of the worlds famous artists are left handed. We lefties are superior and can adapt to use the right handed equipment. The right handers can't adapt |

I quite often use my tripod back tofront as I find it easier to use with the right hand , I also have difficulty knowing my right from letf some times

OK. How ever, thanks for your coments and advice, I shall have to use my camera side-ways when too suny to use the screan and plod on with the view finder with pot liuck, no it's not that bad really. It does seam like right handed worl thoug dosn't it

in the days of film cameras the short cable release was the answer now you can use a remote trigger taped to the side ,however i use my left eye but i operate the camera with my right hand (shutter button)

Yep. I am left eye dominant and was trained to use my right hand by coffee spoon rapped nuckles as an infant. I'm also dylexic. serioucly though my nose gets in the way and so when looking at a subject the camera is of course tilted. I just wondered that's all why the world is so right handed and all mathematics go to the left. so the science of a camera is round the wrong way. (to me)
