Scarborough's swell!

Took a trip into Scarborough on Friday 9.11.07, where the sea was an amazing sight with a swell at that time of approx. 18ft and probably higher occasionally. A few surfers were braving the conditions and having a whale of a time, and by afternoon when the waves had become a bit less abundant there were so many surfers they hardly had any room to move!

Sand and a few stones had been washed over the road and pavements along South Bay, with one of the stalls having taken a bit of a pounding, and Council workers and shop staff were clearing up, making ready once again for visitors.

Thank goodness the tide surge wasn't as bad as had been expected, on this bit of the coast.

Yes have been down the seafront today. Its caused quite abit of damage. Its always amazing to see how powerful the sea can be.
