The story of a cold snail

A logger was sitting in his chair next to a glowing fire after a hard days work one winters evening, when he had a knock on the door. Disgruntled that someone should disturb him while he was comfortable, he got up and opened the door. As he opened the door, all the snow blew in and he could see that there was no'one there and he was just about to slam the door when he heard a small voice, he looked down and saw a snail. The snail looked up at him and said, excuse me, could I come in and warm myself by your fire, its freezing out hear. The logger, furious now, picked up the snail and threw it as hard as he could and then went back and sat down by the fire again.
Anyway winter eventually turned to spring, spring to summer, summer to autumn and autumn to winter, and on a freezing night while he was sitting in his chair by the fire there came a knock on the door. He got up and opened it and saw no'one there, so he was just about to shut it, when he saw the snail again. The snail looked up at him and said, what did you do that for ?......................Jon
