| | | Whats your favourite TV advert ? Whats your Favourite TV ad of all time?
I must admit I'd go for a current one. The drum playing Gorilla in the ad for a well known chocolate brand.

Saw the title to your thread Paul, opened your thread with only one reply in mind.
Then read your post.
Same advert!
Class advert, and the best on tv at the moment I think.
The best ever though (in my opinion) was Irn Bru's take on "The snowman" (you know, I'm walking in the air etc...), which was shown a few years ago in Scotland only, as far as I know. SO funny.
It can be found on you tube though. Just search for Irn Bru and Snowman. I'd pop a link up but cannot right now.
Cheers

| | | Re: Whats your favourite TV ad ? God, now you're putting us all on the spot. I spent most of my formative years in the 70's, so the Cadbury Smash Martians have to be up there.
If you're looking for a single advert, though, then I have to go with that "Dambusters" spoof for Carling Black Label, where the German guard plays goalie. Genius...shame the beer wasn't up to the same standard as the advert!

I loved the advert with the sycamore seeds falling on everything it always made me smile, alas not now as I have a sycamore next to me and it has yielded more seeds than it ever has and it's back breaking work picking up a potential forest every dayLOL. | | | Re: Whats your favourite TV ad ? For me it's the Heineken "Blues Singer" advert.
He's sitting on the porch in the sunshine with his guitar, dog by his side and wife in the kitchen behind him doing the ironing, and he's trying to sing the blues. But it keeps coming out as... "Woah... row, row, row your boat happily down the stream - no, dat ain't the blues!"
So he has a sip of Heineken. Immediately, he gets handed a reposession order for his car, his wife discovers lipstick on his collar and the crockery starts flying, the leg of his chair drops through the porch floor, it starts chucking it down with rain and the dog gets up and leaves him: "Sadness is my first name, last name is misery. My woman done left me and the rain is coming down. Woah yeah!"

But. I think Hamlet cigars ? Ralph C Nesbit after carefully placing his thining hair whilst sat in a photo booth, before the stool slips and his locks flop back to the side of his bald head just as the camera flashes was allways and probably still is my fave.

| | | Re: Whats your favourite TV ad ? I've always enjoyed the R Whites adverts, the Gorilla one playing the drums is great, the dancing car, can't rememmber what car, but it's also done ice skating as well, but the first one where it transformed and danced absolutly brilliant, but my all time favourite has to be the Dulux dog singing My Way, wonderful

Dave P. | .......you really do watch this don't you.........heh! heh! heh!
I must admit its up there with the best - tho like the others the drum playing gorilla to Phill Collins jumped to mind.
Also the 'Came onn' 'Yo-yo' ads for Vauxhall Corsa is irritating but makes me watch it just the same.........

Over the years, there have been so many good ones, but the one I really like atm, is the dog food ad, which takes off the L'Oreal campaign, except their slogan is "because I deserve it" (instead of "I'm worth it"). Then the beautiful dog has a run-in with a frisbee, much to the amusement of the other dogs. |

For an all time great I'm with Mark, it has to be the Cadburys Smash martians,
classic TV at its best.

I like the John Smiths adverts. The series with Peter Kaye in were great. But I do like the current one with the hands free phone.
"Contact we're in"

It really makes me laugh and I love the expression on the face of the girl sat at her desk watching her colleague. I am sure she is the actress that plays the part of the Receptionist in Doc Martin. Can anyone confirm this? |

.....blues singer eh ......... think you've been 'outed' Dave ........ do you sit out on your back stoop to sing it too I think thats the idea of ads tho - they are meant to grab your attention tho whether they actually lead anyone to buy the product I don't know?
