| | | A crazy day What a crazy day iv had today. My faith in some members of the general public has taken a massive blow today. As part of my wardening duties I sometimes have to work on our open farm at the country park (That’s where ur mate Herbie lives Alan ), I really enjoy my work on the farm as a lot of the work involves talking and getting involved with the general public. Anyway today whilst putting the hay out I noticed some young kids throwing stones at our Tamworth pigs, I went whizzing over there and told them to stop! After that the kids dad came over and started getting aggressive and called me every name under the sun ! I couldn’t believe it as I did nothing to provoke him or his children, I just asked them to stop throwing stones. I soon phoned my fellow worker up for back-up as im only little, and I was getting very concerned as to what this guy was going to do.
Can you believe some people? Is it just me or has the whole world gone mad? Needless to say I started on the old cider when I got in (I need it after the day iv had ) |

| | | Re: A crazy day Never mind Nicole, have a drink of cider for me aswell. The geezer in question probably mistook the pigs for his family members, but when he realized they were much better looking than his lot, he probably lost it, and got his spawn to throw stones at them!
It makes you wonder what they were actually there for in the first place! |

Sorry to hear about your working day.
I agree with you .... sometimes the behaviour of people is beyond belief .... both kids and their parents. This was unacceptable behaviour and you were well within your rights to challenge it. It is unfortunate that that then brought more unacceptablr behaviour.
Why take kids to an open farm? Surely as a learning experience and to appreciate and respect the animals. Certainly not to throw stones at the animals and abuse people like you doing a worthwhile job.
Hopefully your faith in the better part of the human race has been restored by logging on to WAB tonight. I trust that the cider will help ease your frustration too . I think I will pour a bottle of beer in sympathy .
Keep up the good work and don't let the b******s grind you down!

| | | Re: A crazy day Sorry to hear about your awful day. What appalling behaviour shown by an 'adult' as well as the children. Some sort of role model he is. In times like this that you have to redress the balance and look at all the good things some folk do. Look at us lot for a start, and your good self.
We all have days when we meet morons. Unfortunately yours was today.Hope your day is much better tomorrow. Keep your pecker up and rise above them. All the best. Julie ww |

He didnt look at all impressed, especially when he saw us all laughing faces off at him, Wish I had my camera |

| | | Re: A crazy day Reminds me of our first visit to monkey forest at Trentham. Before entry, everyone is told the rules, as the macaques are running wild among visitors. Clearly told, no touching the macaques, and children to be under control at all times. Little boy went up to Oliver, an old male, pulled his arm. Oliver waved him away, knocking him over. The staff turned to the mother (who didn't feel the need to watch her child aiming punches at the macaques) and advised her of the rules. She started swearing and abusing the staff, more or less saying she'd sue them for the child's trauma. 5 mins later, she was escorted out. |

Yes that would be good. A night in, on the booze. Problem is my jokes become more frequent and sometimes a bit sketchy. |

| | | Re: A crazy day Sorry to hear about your bad day experience Nicole. Hope the cider helped. Fortunately and hopefully these occasions are few and far between.
Ironically I went to a new fungi woodland site today that I used to frequent as a child. I often remember it been a somewhat 'No go' area so I was a little hesitant.
Imagine my surprise and pleasure when a large group of teenage school children came by and they all greeted me with a friendly 'hello'
There’s hope yet
John
PS btw Boddie it's Friday tomorrow .... remember that joke you were going to post
Go on I dare you |

Besides, late start tomorrow and I am not needed in theatres, which is rare, so I have to take the opportunities when they come. |

Anyway my apologies for some of the examples of the "human race" you met today Nicole.
Luckily those sort of people are usually a minority but still infuriating none the less when encountered.
Hope you are having a better evening than you did day
Enjoy your Cider | | | | |
