| | | What I go through to get a photo What with sinking in sand, getting funny looks when on my knees getting macro shots, increasing the size of the pile of dirty washing .My family thinking I am nuts especially when they see me sat on a chair with a cuppa and the camera underneath my huge rotary washing line full of washing.I had to top it off today by looking like I had wet myself. It is a glorious hot sunny afternoon here so I went to Exmouth beach and the tide was out so made my way to the rocks in the sea.Thought I would look see what I could find in the rock pools.Well I was walking along on a concrete groyne which goes down between the natural rocks. As its underwater a lot it there is a lot of seaweed and barnacles on it.I picked my way very carefully studying the rock pools to take photos.Well my right foot caught a bit of slippery seaweed and I felt myself slipping.Just as I thought I had averted a fall I felt my foot give again and down I went.Luckily I didn't land on the coccyx but on the right bum cheek where there was plenty of padding, still hurt though.I felt such a fool.kept tight hold on the camera around my neck and kept it in the air so it didn't hit the ground. When I got up I was covered with seaweed and also as the rocks are of red sandstone I was dirty and looked like I had wet myself.Must have looked a right prat and I had to get back to the car looking like that.Haven't been through the photos yet,There had better be a couple of good ones

| | | Re: What I go through to get a photo Aching back through standing very still in one spot waiting for a bird to show. Blurry eyes and feeling absolutely exhausted through lack of sleep. I am a shift worker and will often go out taking photographs when I finish a night shift, locally that is where I can walk (Definitely not recomended to drive in this condition) I find the early morning is best especially for birds. Sitting in hides in freezing cold weather for hours waiting for that Kingfisher etc to show that never does, or invaribly you meet someone who was in the hide with you a bit later and they say, Oh!! it showed up a couple of minutes after you left!!.
