| | | Exeter canal Well i had a lovely day today although not with the bike.My second eldest daughter came down from West Molesy in Surrey with her three children for the weekend. One of the children is my extra special granddaughter called Alycia who was born with down Syndrome and a severe heart condition which cannot be cured. When she was born we were told she would not live long but she is nine years old now.She has been on medication all her little life which has kept her going but unfortunately she is deteriorating and has to use her wheelchair as she cannot walk far without losing her breath as she also has pulmory hypertension.Well to get to the point,as I had a lovely day with the swans at Exeter canal the other day we decided to go out and show the children and let them feed the swans. We also took my eldest and her little one.The children had a wonderful day but to highlight the day,as we made our way back along Exeter Quay we saw a funny sight. There were two swans in a tiny garden of a house on the Quay doing a swan dance. Then to our suprise we noticed the female was actually pulling out dry dead plants and grass and putting it aside while the male looked on as if protecting her while she did the gardening.A man then came out of his front door, raised his eyebrows and just walked past out of the gate. The male didn't bat an eyelid although the house owner was only a couple inches away as he went to the gate.He jokingly said he has 2 new gardeners. The children were fascinated here are a couple of photos.
