I have received several disturbing PMs lately accusing me of using WAB to promote and sell my paintings.
Although some members have bought paintings from me they did so at their own request with no pressure from me.
I paint from members photos only because i am inspired by them,not to sell them.I would gladly stop painting from members photos if they feel under pressure in any way.
I joined WAB because of my interest in nature and nothing else.

who the hell thinks like that,we all know you dont try making money out of us what a nasty thing to say,dont take any notice of them mike there just grummpy old sods that havnt got any thing else better to do,there are some nasty people about why cant they keep their noses out of other peoples buisness,dont worry we dont think like that atall,betty. |

Best from mike. | I can personally vouch for what Mike has said above. Mike has painted one of my photos and at no time whatsoever has Mike ever asked me to buy it, and I certainly haven't felt pressured in any way to do so.
Talent like Mike has should be encouraged.

Incidently all of Mike's Wildlife Art is to be found in the new gallery category 'Wildlife Art'.
If there is anyone who has posted Wildlife Art images and they have not been moved please report them to the editors so that they can be moved. But please remember it must be Wildlife related to go into the new category otherwise it will stay in the forum images.

I've never commented on your artwork.
Don't really know why, as I really enjoy looking at it.
Take no notice of the jealous ones (that can't be censored eh?!) who will find any way they can to knock you.
The world is (unfortunately) full of peole like that.

Hi Mike
You have to realise that it takes all to make a world tick. Not everyone thinks like that vast majority of us so just take these PM's with a pinch of salt and ignore them. In fact if you get any more then report them to a Moderator and possibly let them deal with it (I'm sorry if I am saying the wrong thing here).
Genuine members like yourself should be protected from this sort of bullying, for that is what it is, and if you are continually getting PM's like this then it should be stopped. Hopefully this thread will have that effect.
You certainly have my support in carrying on doing this. I think that members would class it an honour to have one of their photos good enough to inspire you to try and paint it.

Johns point is a good one. You can report who has sent the PMs. One thing all members should remember, PMs are NOT hidden from Stu the site administrator. He will be able to see who is sending what and to whom. |

Best from mike. | I presume these pms were not from stu , or from any of the wab team (mods. eds etc) - that being the case i'd suggest you report them to Stu cos no one else has the right to send out pms like that.
i can certainly vouch for your good intentions , cos you did a great job on my oystercatcher and at no time tried to sell it to me. Feel free to paint from any of my photos any time you get the urge

Well I'd just like to chip in here...
I did actually buy both of the paintings that Mike did for me purely because 'I' wanted them for myself!!! At no point did Mike approach me to purchase them, I approached him. He is a true gentleman and a wonderful artist! (and also I'm just really jealous because I have no artistic tallent whatsoever  )
Mike, just ingore the numpties, they're really not worth the effort

I agree with everyone here! I love seeing your paintings on the site, gives me something pretty to gaze at on these dark evenings! The people who sent those PMs are probably jealous cos your such a wonderful artist!! Anyway, that's what the Wildlife Art forum is for, surely?!?!

Mike,
The Wildlife Art forum is there for talented people like you to show us your works - judging by the comments you get, I am obviously not alone in admiring your paintings, and being glad that you share them with us.
I have never seen you try to do anything to 'promote' or sell your paintings, and really can't see why people should complain. Please ignore them and continue to share your art with us.

Hi mike
I think its dreadful that someone hides behind a pm to cause upset like this.
I love your paintings and always look on the Wildlife Art forum everyday to see if there is a new picture from you (and from other members too!) so if anyone tries to put you off posting them they should be shown up for what they are!
I agree with the others keep painting and posting and don't let some sad, miserable person spoil WAB for you and us!
