I really am grumpy today!
Doug | do i get special dispensation as im recovering from knee surgery? im a oeoeoeoeoeoe for doing that...
my pet peeves, ahem, the list is quite extensive:
1. kids who brag about smoking, i caught 2 kids, brother and sister threatening to tell their dad about each other smoking, when their dad rung i took the phone informed the gentleman who thanked me (i was expecting a rather well deserved ear bashing for relieving the young girl of her communication device... theres proper spelling and grammar for you, dont get me started on that!) then i returned the phone
2. parents who swear at their kids/ shout at their kids to behave. My child is due to be born in april (6 days after my 21st lol!) and if anyone dare to swear infront of my child... well lets just say my ju-jutsu training will get a once over.
3. smoking on the buses, i know i already covered it, but that one drives me mad! and the busdrivers are so afraid of having their faces beaten in they do nothing. i on the other hand, tend to be heavy handed, loud, and every once in a while put a so called "hard man" in his very small school boy place.
4. phones with music playing over the speaker. i wear headphones, so should you... unless you happen to like the phantom of the opera soundtrack, and my PDA phone has a far larger speaker than yours.
ill leave it at that... oh with one addition...
5. my gosh darned postman walking over my blooming flowers! one more time and i break his legs, i swear to God i will
edit... hmm that makes me laugh that...
policeman: "and how did you break your legs"
postman: "well i walked over this guys flowers....."

And, while I've got the floor, people who start a comment with: "With the greatest respect...."
And cashiers who drape your receipt over your hand then put the change on top of it, meaning you have to do a complicated juggling manoeuvre to get it back into your wallet.

| | | Re: Pet hates, peeves, and bugbears! One has thought about this a little and these are one's main peeves:
People who don’t keep their sliver cutlery cleaned properly
Country folk who simply don’t know how to behave in the presence of their elders and betters
Those awful rambly folk who wear such terrible clothes and walk across one’s estate in wellington boots, jeans and floppy jumpers
Serving the foie gras at the wrong temperature
Those airlines who allow the wrong sort of people to fly first class lowering the tone
All those working class hooligans who watch Manchester Hotspurs or something – why don’t they just come to rugger games?
Those awful countryside wardens who try to stop one picking wild flowers for the picnic table – for goodness sake there are plenty to go round!
People whose shooting is so bad that the Hen Harriers get away |

Been offered stilton with a non vintage port

Of course you do! I was the same with an old injury once.
We both know that the HUGE majority of the people that I'm talking about are certainly not recovering from surgery!!! |

'At the end of the day, its a game of two halves - you have to take ownership, step outside your comfort zone, tick the box and move the goalposts, touch base'
Why do people talk this rubbish!!
What happened to plain straight talking? I suppose it disappeared along with smacking children (which the brats that yell and throw thmselves on supermarket floors are in severe need of).
What happened to respect for elderly folk - we seem to be obsessed by children - the pandering to children with special foods, making excuses for bad behaviour 'he's tired' - no he isnt he's a spoilt brat who wants a good hiding, we have parent and child parking spaces but what about the old folks?
Manners - gone - people eat with their hands and open their mouths while eating
Chavs. They breed like Rabbits, get houses, benefits, never work, respect nothing and no-one, talk 'like tha innit like eh', have agressive dogs that foul everywhere, drive souped up cars, take drugs and drink and drive...........what purpose do they serve in society?
My uncle is 88 and fought at Dunkirk - he is absolutely disgusted at what the country he fought for has become - he doesnt understand the society he lives in anymore........neither do I.

I swear some of the 'kids' that are knocking on my door tonight are just after booze or fag money. The youngers kids (who are with parents) faces light up when the bag of sweets appear but others obviously just want cash!

Ive got elderly parents who are terrified this time of year - the masks are enough to frighten old folk - they saw enough horror during the war - perhaps kids these days should do national service - it might take the 'fun' out of horror - and ban these sick violent movies which even young kids seem not to be afraid of - they are growing increasingly insensitive to violence - because they dont experience it first hand.
I wonder how many 2nd World War survivors are keen to watch horror moviea for 'pleasure'??
