Waiting for a drink at the bar while people walk straight in and get served.
People blatently littering the countryside and the streets.

Also, don't get me started on people who use 'like' in completely inappropriate places, e.g. I was like down at the shops. You either were or you weren't there is no like. It's almost as bad as, whatever. Bloomin Americans.
Enjoy the last day of summer folks, in two months Christnas will be over

Adam | I agree with this one, as it is one of my pet hates as well. I admit my punctuation and grammer when typing at lightning speed on the net is terrible, but other than the odd speed typing induced typo i get really annoyed with bad spelling or the wrong word used altogether. Infact on WAB there is some horrendous spelling/word use and command of the Queens English...i nearly posted a thread about it but thought better of it as i suspect a lot of the guilty are dyslexic. I started to wonder why the "nature loving" world had such an abundance of people who cant spell ? i wondered did we ALL bunk off school and skip homework and spelling tests to go out hunting sloworms ( is it to ww?..oh the irony)..i also suspect ,a bit like myself i was bullied all through my school years for a multitude of reasons which made me become a bit of a recluse/loner so i would take myself off to the woods or the fields or the river alone and immerse myself in the friendly world of nature..maybe a lot of us had a similar background? (although i was top in my class at English so i guess thats not a good example)..I also suspect that the users on WAB that particularly irritate me may be of some foreign origin and english is their second language so they can be excused...and some of the howlers are so bad they actually make me chuckle....my fave this week i keep seeing is "Yoused" ! classic !

I am learning to get over my dismay at this.
Unless the poor grammar, spelling or use of apostrophes is printed on a sign, and left there.
Just for you Dan....

Text speak in e-mails and letters is a particular pet hate of mine, I genuinely worry that a significant proportion of our teenagers are losing the ability to spell and write correctly!
I'm a university academic so regularly get e-mails from prospective students asking about entry requirements and so on and the majority of British students will let text speak creep into the e-mails at some point. Lower case 'i' instead of 'I', 'u' instead of 'you', '2' instead of 'to' etc. Gone are the days when students thought they actually had to try to impress us The sad thing is that they don't realise this sort of language doesn't impress us. They think it is perfectly acceptable.
On a more serious note, I have a real issue with anti-social behaviour which seems to pervade our society these days. There's no answer to it and the kids who do it know that they have all the power. The police come if called, but it's always too late. Grrr...
I could go on...

I have many many pet hates but Ill narrow it down to a couple:
People behind the till in shops who talk to someone else while they're serving you, or talk on their mobile phone!
and
Driver's who drive so close behind me that I can't see their bonnet in the misguided belief that it will make me drive faster

Yep, the use of haitch instead of aitch.
Parents who think it's cute when their kids run riot in the supermarkets, or tell them NO, then let them get on with whatever it was they were doing.
Able bodied morons who park in disabled bays, leaving us who struggle, to walk from the other end of the car park, we are issued with blue badges for a reason, aarrgghh
My Mothers snobbery, she is a typical Hyacinth Bucket, there are way too many examples to put on here, but believe me, Hyacinth has got nothing on her.
There must be many, many more, but this isn't doing my blood pressure one jot of good
