Angry Stuck to taking photos in the garden

Looked out the window this morning to see what the weather was doing cloudy cold and some so and so had pinched my trusty rusty moped from the front garden.I havent got a side entrance so had to be in front and guess what! This idiot forgot to chain it up.It was hidden behind my hedge.Cannot afford a new one cant afford to use the car on my many jaunts around the countryside so now I am effectively grounded.Just when I was getting out everyday and getting a lot of excercise because I could go to more out of the way places park up and walk for miles. It was doing my health no end of good and also helped my depression with all the photography and excercise. Now I am lower than ever. They have taken away my pleasure of getting out and about doing my photography

Re: Stuck to taking photos in the garden

Hi Cherrybee,

I'm very sorry to hear your news. Have you had a good look around your area to check it hasn't been dumped anywhere? It could be just kids who wanted to play around with it for a while until they got bored at which point they might have simply left it in a ditch. Presumably your moped was insured?

Matt

Oh dear, I'm very sorry for you Cherrybee, you never know though it may turn up! Is there anywhere in your neighbourhood were they do off-road biking, cos they may have headed for there. With a bit of luck the zombie that took it will fall on his head! Please try to keep your spirits up!

Re: Stuck to taking photos in the garden

Thanks to you all for your support
.My hubby has been on his pedal bike and gone around the usual places. He has just gone out again.I have reported it to the police and rung the insurers.I am afraid I probably wont get anything as it was a moped my brother-in-law had in the back garden for quite a while and it is faded and a bit rusty.Got it through M.O.T and it went ok but as I didnt pay anything for it and its a 1997 honda there was just a value of a hundred on it and the excess is a hundred. My other bro in law says some teen probably got it hidden somewhere to ride about again this evening and parents these days dont seem to take any notice of what their kids are up to.Where i live is the same street I grew up in and there was always little pockets on the estate where you had a rough lot.Over the years there are even more.A lot who are not Exmouth born but have been re housed down here.Probably were not wanted where they came from.I am afraid this day and age outsiders get the council houses and not our local born and bred.I know because my daughter was in tempory housing quite a way from the family for over 2 years and was very unhappy.I had a local councillor who had known all our family that finally got her back to Exmouth.

Yes I hope so too and I am not normally that vidictive but they have taken away my pleasure so why should they have any pleasure. The stand on it had got a bit loose and needed a new spring.I was looking to asking a friend to sort it as when I went around a right hand bend it caught the ground.I had a way of hooking it up with those stretchy hooks but they wont know that.Hope it catches on a stone and they fall off.Dont want them to injure anyone else or be seriously hurt but I would fell they got their come-uppance

Thank you you're a great crowd.Police have just come to the door to let me know what they are doing. They are going around the neighbours to see if anyone saw anything.I really don't hold out much hope for it though.Mind you my daughter has a speedfight2 parked in the back garden and has been since she had her first baby and he is 2 1/2 now.It has no tax or M.O.T now but the mileage is very low as she only used it for work and when the insurance ran out she could not afford to renew. She has never got round to selling it.She was going to sell to me but I could not afford it even when she dropped the price. She text me a couple of hours ago and said she would tranfer it to my name and I could use it if I got it sorted. An hour later she said she would give it to me as she said she will never get around to selling it.She is my youngest and most bolshy daughter and if we live together we clash but I am proud of her as not only has she given me 2 lovely grandsons who are always smiling and contented (they are 2 1/2 and 4 months)but she knows what the bike meant to me.She needs the money too but someway somehow one day I hope to give her something.
Thank you all for putting up with my novel about the bike and for your support

Cherrybee I was totally saddened while reading about your moped being stolen, I enjoy looking at your captures and reading about your travels on the gallery and knowing the pleasure you get from your moped and photography, but know I am over the moon for you, what a great gift your lovely daughter has given you. Remember the saying, when one door closes another one opens. Good Luck

Re: Stuck to taking photos in the garden

So pleased to hear that good fortune has smiled on you CB and like many others on here I would have missed seeing your photos and reading of your travels on the moped. I wish you all the best in getting the new moped sorted and look forward to seeing more posts from you soon

So sorry to hear this CB. Do you think it might have anything to do with the kids that took it for a joyride last month?

Hope the police find it in one piece.
Hugs from me fingers crossed
Beryl

Re: Stuck to taking photos in the garden

Be a while yet to get it on the road it has to have an M.O.T and a repair to one of the indicaters the cover got broken also the only key we have found was snapped in half as she accidently slammed it in a door. She had a spare at my house but for the life of us we don't know where it has disapeared.Might have to take the barrel out to see if there is a number to get a new key.Oh well these things were sent to try us
