| | | Lewis Hamilton Lewis Hamilton is just about to set off on the race that could make him the first formula one driver to become a world champion in his rookie year. Let's hope he has the best of British luck and brings it home |

| | | Re: Lewis Hamilton McLaren threw it away two weeks ago with the apparent inability to judge when a set of tyres were finished, plus I echo Boddie's sentiment re: youthful exuberance contributing to his ultimate downfall. It's a mistake that he won't make again.
Still, there's always next season.

| | | Re: Lewis Hamilton damn - hes not got it. probaly because it would be embarassing for the FIA. Plus Max Mosley would never take a world championship away from his beloved ferrari. All this after the rugby and football
Oh well at least west ham won for once

| | | Re: Lewis Hamilton A shame for Hamilton, but they should have wrapped it up last race. Hamilton will learn that the title is more important that one race, and that he only needs to do what is needed to take the title. Going fast is one thing, but if you don't finish, its pretty pointless. If he had stuck behind Alonso it could have been a different headline, even with the mechanical problems.
It was an exciting race (rare for F1 these days) and in the end, i believe the right man won in the end.
There's always next year. |

I hope he gets plenty of peace and quiet without being hounded by our media mafia. Doesn't change my opinion of him one little bit. |

Happy to use the media to flaunt his Tag Heuer watch or Santander race top then moans they dont leave him alone.
I used to like him but he has lost most of the respect I had for him.
Got a little too Billy Big Time a tad too fast |

I see we don't quite agree with each other then!
Having never suffered at the hands of fame, skill, fortune, media attention or any other of his problems be they real or not, I dont feel I'm in a position to criticise him. So long as he drives as he does he'll do for me. |

| | | Re: Lewis Hamilton I must admit I was one of those rooting for him to win the title but I had a bit of a shock at work in the week leading up to the last race.
I have a female work colleague that is married to one of the technical guys that is in his team. Apparently he, and others, are furious at his antics and the way he conducts himself. Apparently he thinks he is above everyone else and that they should be at his beck and call at all times and he treats most of his team like dirt.
Obviously I don't know if this is true but my work colleague has no need to lie as there is nothing to gain by it.

Got a little too Billy Big Time a tad too fast | The reasons he wears the heavily endorsed shirt, overalls, watch and race watch is because they are the main team sponsors and he has no choice.

| | | Re: Lewis Hamilton i'd agree - i watched him on tv the other day and he was whining about all the press attention etc (which strongly reminded me of a certain one legged model's interview on telly), but if you will go into one of the most heavily televised, endorsed and popular motorsports what do you expect? i'm happy enough to support a brit, but its about time he realised that signing up for a high profile sport in a high profile team is going to mean press infringement. it goes with the job - its not like he has to do it, he could have been a software developer or something. and writing a autobiography & toddling all over the place presenting awards isn't exactly going to keep him out of the lime light now is it?

| | | Re: Lewis Hamilton I don't think they were his own words...I think his he was pompted by some very bad PR advice. He's been around the sport since he was a little kid and is probably no stranger to seeing fans chasing after their racing heroes. Whoever told him to say that he was going abroad to get away from the press and fans (or whoever let him say it) should be replaced with someone who can give him better PR advice. |

| | | Re: Lewis Hamilton yeah, but even with a pr person he must realise that saying those things is going to impact on his credibility and peoples perception of him. from a few of the articles i've read, it would appear mclaren are less then overjoyed with him swanning of all over the place doing awards and parties etc, and are hiring him a pr person to manage all his press stuff. to give him his dues he's a brilliant driver - its just a shame he comes across so badly sometimes!
