Managed to persuade myself not to look, but now I'm all tempted again.....
Forgot to tell you all how delicious fishpaste and crisp sandwiches can be for breakfast. Or cold pizza. |

| | | Re: fave illicit snacks my fave 'illicit' snack that normally gets the 'ewww you mucky pig' reaction is smash (yep the little robot men smash) with some mature cheddar cheese melted into it as a sandwich.
Mind I also love the same but with some corned beef mixed into it as well as a sandwich.
The other half and kids just look at me like I am an alien when they catch me making one of these! |

Lucky you Mind you, chilli and chocolate are quite often paired. It's apparently very good if you boil milk with a chilli cut into three parts, then you remove the chilli pieces and make a hot cocoa or chocolate with the milk. I keep meaning to try it every winter.... but then the mulled wine beckons

This is my one and only post as Jens husband and I can confirm indeed that she loves peanut butter sandwiches and has absolutely no hesitation in finishing her night shift and breathing peanut butter breath on me at six in a morning, which wakes me with a start.....

| | | Re: fave illicit snacks Hmm there's a couple for me
1) Thickly cut fresh white bread, toasted, with a generous helping of butter. As the butter starts to melt, mix in with some crunchy peanut butter. Soooo sickly but divine
2) Pre-sliced thick white bread (aka "plastic bread" when I was a kid) with butter, tomato ketchup on both sides and slices of corned beef in between.
3) When the other half isn't home, frankfurter sausages microwaved and shoved in a roll with cheese slices.

| | | Re: fave illicit snacks Actually, on the xmas and snack note, we're having jelly and ice cream for xmas desert (potent vodka jelly made night before yum). However, I need an alcohol-themed first course; best I can come up with so far is melon injected with either rum, brandy or whisky. Any ideas greatly appreciated, tho pls note alcohol content must outweigh food content hee hee

FD bagels are the best - have all sorts of wierd seeds on them which taste fab - especially when toasted |
