What are you doing today.

I'm having a bowl of good old porrige, then I'm off to Messingham NR for a couple of hours. Then I might just wander on to Potteric Carr, a place I've yet to see.

Re: What are you doing today.

I'm gonnae spend the morning on the interweb, to find a haunted pub for me and my girlfriend to stay in over the weekend. Or somewhere in the New Forest. Or somewhere on the rocky west coast.
I'll find somewhere!

Working, toiling, slaving away, sneaking off for 10 mins to look at WAB , working, toiling, slaving away...

Someone could have warned me how BIG the place was !! I reckon I must have walked a hundred miles!! OK, a slight exaggeration , but me poor old legs certainly think it was that far.

Lovely pics Tormentil. Quite haunting.

Linking in nicely with ......Let me know if you find a fab haunted place to stay Black Rabbit. I've heard the Red lion thingy in Avebury is quite haunted. Been there for lunch but that's about it.

Re: What are you doing today.

That second photo is a cracker Ben, very moody and atmospheric. I've had a lazy day by my standards, didn't get up until 7:45am which is late for me. Sat and watched the birds having breakfast on the feeders whilst I had mine. Logged onto WAB for half an hour, then took my dogs for a long walk.

After a light lunch time snack I must admit I nodded off for about an hour, but then I do have to go to work this evening, then I took a few photos of the birds, nothing special mind so didn't keep any. I then cooked the evening meal for Sue and myself and apart from being on WAB until work time that's about it.

Found one.
I'm no sure if I'm allowed to give pub names out on WAB (advertising?)!
Lets just say its a mile or so south of Brockenhurst in the New Forest, and its intials are The F.I.
And its haunted. Still!
I don't think the ghost is too bad - it throws things about a bit allegedly, but you know, it won't kill you or owt!

We are off to the farmers market on my road now for a spot of breaky, then we set off.
If I'm not back on WAB by tuesday, you'll know the wee ghosty at the "F.I." is very real indeed!

Woooooh! Clanking of chains etc...

Doug.

Off to meet Henrya to go on to Welches Dam for a days birdwatching... then to the pub in Ramsey for steak pie and chips. For me the perfect day! Hope you all have a good one!

Re: What are you doing today.

I've already done what I set out to do today. At 6:30 this morning, I was heading into the New Forest to photograph the wild ponies. It's a project that I've been working on since late summer, and although they are more approachable than most wild life, they still don't exactly queue up to have their photo taken.

Re: What are you doing today.

I'm inspecting the underside of my duvet as I've got a small dose of flu thanks to my anti-flu jab I had on Tuesday. Typically there are Great Grey Shrikes, Penduline Tits and Little Bittern that I could be seeing instead. Grrr.

Cheers,

Adam

After my epic journies of yesterday, I'm having a lazy day, despite pointed hints issuing forth from the Leader of the Opposition.

Today we've had a mega lie in, yes, we've just got up

Now getting ready to go to cardiff by train, only 25 mins, where we're having a lush italian for lunch, onto fat face to spend copious amounts of cash on clothes and then into las iguanas which is a genuine cocktail bar where you get buy one get one free on cocktails until 1800 hrs. Long island tea is fave Then crawl back here so that I can watch my english partner cry watching the rugby whilst consuming fave red wine. Great day have a nice one guys

Re: What are you doing today.

What have I done today.
Had a great day out today. First stop was Aston Rowant NR where I found quite a bit of Fungi, most of which I'm still trying to ID. Also lots of Fieldfare and Redwing along with some Siskin and my first Brambling of the winter, and quite a few Red Admiral still around.
Second was Farmoor reservoir wher apart from the usual Ducks, Grebes etc a birding friend and I found two rather late migrants in the form of a Wheatear and a Whinchat. Also more Red Admirals and 20+ Common Darter and a Hawker (probably Migrant).
Also......on the way back I had a stunning male Merlin peched on a Hawthorn. The bird of the day.
The weather was warm and sunny and made for good day out.

Paul

Congratulations. Isn't there something in the rules about having to share winnings with other members?
