| | | RSPB pin badges Hey all,
I've recently been building up my collection of RSPB pin badges, I usually pick up 2/3 whenever i go to a nature reserve Anyhow, i'm looking for something to store them on, rather than them just being sat in a draw, can anybody recommend a site where i'll be able to buy something to store them on?
Thanks |

| | | Re: RSPB pin badges Now I do not know what this says about me, but I have made a notice board out of corks from wine bottles, I pin all my badges to that. It hangs in my kitchen.
I do have many corks therefore have drunk a lot of wine, but drinking good wine with corks in the bottles saves wildlife. That is what I tell myself anyway. LOL

| | | Re: RSPB pin badges Re-using old corks is a good idea and definitely green!
What about the stretched canvases you can buy already on a frame from art shops? Some bookshops and stationers are selling them these days too. They're not too expensive, come in a good range of sizes, are ready to hang and you can paint them any colour you like or just leave them white.

| | | Re: RSPB pin badges oh dear....well to own up, i have around 150 pin badges (not all rspb i hasten to add) until it got so that they wouldn't fit i used to stick them through the strap on my satchel, then on ribbons hanging off my pin board and then when that finally gave way under the weight i resorted to keeping them all in a bag.
however i reckon you could get a couple of those plastic bead storage efforts and upend it that might work? one badge per little compartment? and you could decorate it if you wanted to!
ther's a link o the sort of thing i mean below, but you can pick them up in model shops and craft shops all over the place! GJ Beads - Storage box 27 x 19 x 4.5cm

| | | Re: RSPB pin badges My son has over 300 hundred pin badges now (yep, I've collected them for him!) but we put them on a compressed A4 foam sheet that I got from a craft shop and it works well (loadsa colours too). I put some eyelets into the top 2 corners and they can now be hung up in his room for display!

| | | Re: RSPB pin badges Typical you can't get any now you have set your mind to it .
I started collecting them this summer when I was over in the Lakes, and had great fun picking out which I would buy every time I saw them. I only bought ones that held a special meaning of something I saw that holiday! It will be ages until I can get some more - but I can't wait - it's money well spent.
Hope you find some to buy soon! |

| | | Re: RSPB pin badges That is a really good idea -I think my daughter may fancy something like this she has all hers pinned to lengths of ribbon down the side of her book case to display.
So you will be itching to get out and get some more now BTW, we only have 4 the same . |

| | | Re: RSPB pin badges A very interesting thread Lincs....I used to collect these about 5 years ago but I seemed to be spending a lot of money everytime I went to a reserve! So in the end I stopped getting them! I didn't onlt collect the RSPB ones but the individual reserve ones and local authorities ones like the Norfolk Broads ones too and Abberton Reservoir!
I will have to dig them out...

Thanks | When my cousin was in the brownies she put all her cloth and metal badges on a small square-ish blanket and pinned it to the wall.
Cheers,
