| | | Re: before wab. I dont get on the internet much as 1) My kids think it's theirs and 2) My other half works four day then has three off so i like to spend those three days with him. But I love WAB because it is a site with like minded people with none of the nonsense if you get what I mean. I know there is a section for whatever but at the end of the day everyone here loves nature whatever thier preference and I always feel at home here and welcome. Which to me is important because during the day I only have the dog to talk to and he is just so argumentative . Fi. X X X X

W-AB indeed! | Actually i do get this feeling at work. As a family run buisness we do look after our customers and they do us which is why i enjoy working where i do. But WAB has that certain something more instant.

Coming through the other end to now is unthinkable to how i met and dealt with local growers and the public alike at times like Apple Day. Christmas in a busy enviroment when my head was going AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAArgh x TTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTd to try and mellow it out. It just didn't work like that. To come through it and be able to handle and even feel on top of the world even, through climate change i'm good now!

| | | Re: before wab. Well I hafta agree with everyone so far... WAB certainly is a great place to be and I'm so glad I found you all!
We may be spread out all over the country (oh and Goosey of course *waves to Goosey*!) but there is such a nice feeling of being welcomed and bonding with other members even though we've never met before - how cool is that!
Seems to me that we all (at one time or another) have things to share or need help with that are not nature related, and I have to say that I have been personally bowled over by the kindness of other members on here lately - so thank you all, and I really mean it!
There's just so much out there on our glorious island to learn about, and this truly is the 'best place' to find out about British nature IMO!

| | | Re: before wab. I can only get onto WAB when my son is either sleeping or at school as he is always "talking" to his mates on the net. Anyway, it works out fine as it gives me time to actually get out in the countryside and take photographs. If he wasn't in the house I'd be on the internet all day. |

Funnily enough, I was talking recently to someone who's wife suffers from it. Did you see Stephen Fry's program about it a year or so ago - one of the most impressive and informative pieces of TV I've ever seen.
I love WAB - there's a real community spirit about it. Everyone's very friendly and very helpful. You learn a lot in the various forums where real experts will share their knowledge and help identify things for you, while in the Treehouse you can have a bit of fun. In the few months I've been posting on here I've learnt a lot about various aspects of British wildlife, I've had some good laughs and feel I've made friends with people all over the country (not forgetting Goosey in the Netherlands, of course!). |

Thanks Pete, it's nice to to be forgotten .
You are right there is a great community spirit here and it is so easy to make friends and have a laugh. I feel I would be totally lost without it. Who needs a terribly tidy house anyway . |
