So it's gonna have to be soup with a teaspoon and at least an hour to do it in

Good weight loss plan..

Lentil loaf, those wedge-shaped potatoes that you put in the oven and grilled tomatoes - very nice.

Re: Traditional Sunday Lunch

Do you have a tandoori oven Tufftie or do you cook your naan breads in a pan or a normal oven? I wan't to have a go but I would be grateful for your recipe and method if you don't mind?

Wonder if I could do them on the outside of our Chimenea?????

The shop bought ones are rubbish, especially the Sharwoods ones, they are like cardboard!!! The Lloyd Grossman ones are not too bad.

I've made my own naan - from a recipie and also that packet mix you can get (OK for when you're in a hurry ) and just put them under the grill.

Who wants to eat the Frankenstein Monster chicken's we bought from the yanks , when you can't beat the flavour from chickens that grow at a much slower rate?! Savour the flavour, grump...Sounds like a dinner very much worth waiting for!

Was definitely worth waiting for, especially when I didn't have to cook it (hubby trained as a chef!). Belly nicely full now

Re: Traditional Sunday Lunch

We had that well know traditional sunday lunch this evening of Potatas bravas with smoked haddock and salad.:

The potatas bravas were a Simon Rimmer recipie where you cook them in the oven and are absolutely YUM!!!!

I bought the smoked haddock from the reduced section and it was non-dyed and was really delicious. I had to smile cos the label said "landed in Norway" so I had a picture in my head of all these smoked hadddocks swimming around Norway

Good man!!! I bet there are loads of people out there that just bin the carcass, you can get lot's of meals from one bird without much trouble and with all this "credit crunch" business save a few quid in the process!!

My thrifty tip is to get a ham hock, you won't have to pay more than about £2.50 for one and they make an excellent stock for a large pot of soup and they have loads of meat on them which you can put some in the soup and have some left over to have cold with a smearing of English mustard perhaps!!!

Then if you have a dog you can give it the bone! Bargain!
